The General Managers’ Cooperative

Day 626, 10:30 Published in USA USA by DCEinstein

The war against Peace has dealt some serious blows to the eUS and it is important that all citizens do all they can to help the eUS come out of this war victorious. To expand such efforts, I urge the Emerick Administration to establish a General Managers’ Cooperative.

Members of the Cooperative would sacrifice profits during the war to make purchases and donate various goods to the eUS or to individual citizens. To create an incentive for business owners to join the Cooperative, I suggest that the eUS government off-set the income tax for all transfers necessary to make requested purchases.

For example, with the fall of eCanada, there is an opportunity to help Canadians move to the eUS or another Eden/Fortis country to continue the war efforts. However, each Canadian would need at least 1 and maybe 2 moving tickets to move. With the General Managers’ Cooperative, the eUS government could send a message to the Cooperative members saying "purchase moving tickets." The organizations would buy a block of moving tickets then either donate them directly to the government or distribute them to Canadian citizens that want to move.

After making the contribution, the general manager would then put in a request to the government to be reimbursed for the income taxes that it had to give up to pay for the moving tickets. In the earlier example, if my organization buys 20 moving tickets at $7.50 each for a total of $150, I would have to pay $37.50 in taxes in addition to that $150. Thus, after making the purchase, the government would refund the $37.50 in taxes I paid to transfer the money from my company account to my organization account. This would be a financially neutral program for the government because it would just be repaying funds it received.

Any thoughts on how this program could be improved?
