The February Presidential Elections - The Pregame Show (Part I)

Day 439, 15:09 Published in USA USA by John Wycliffe

After a very narrow victory in the January 2009 elections, Justinious McWalburgson III came out on top to become President of the United States. With such a close election, his clear challenger of the last contest, Uncle Sam, has put his name up again while former-candidate Desertfalcon of the January campaign will not.

The State of the Union Under President McWalburgson
During the Presidency of Justinious McWalburgson III, one of the most disastrous attacks on the United States occurred. Oddly enough, though, not a single shot was fired and not a single citizen lost any wellness over it. This was an economic disaster. Franco, a formerly prominent citizen and now defector to The Party in South Korea, hacked the United States Federal Reserve and dumped the money into the monetary market. Quickly and necessarily dismissing any other plans for anything else in the United States, Emergency Legislative Action was brought forth shortly after the final passage of the CTPA. While the US economy has quickly recovered and all seems to be back to a relative norm, the Reserve is still relatively empty and the selling of bonds has commenced. These events have overshadowed almost everything else that has occurred and have hindered or enveloped other accomplishments of the McWalburgson Administration.

The Candidates
Justinious McWalburgson is running for his second term in the wake of this economic crisis seeking to accomplish that which he has not been able to in his first term. Uncle Sam has renewed his challenge, this time with the ironic support of the Conservative Party with General Shafer as his running mate. After this surprising move, unsettling to some, and apparent to others, the United States Worker's Party pulled its support from Uncle Sam under the leadership of scrabman. it is uncertain whether the USWP will endorse Justin or stay out of the election all together.
