Dear citizens of the United eNetherlands,

on the 18th of November, 2009, eHungary attacked Burgenland region. The reasons for attacking Burgenland were both internal and international. In our former president’s, Termetes Samu’s opinion (published after the attack) there were internal tensions in eHungary which hit mainly the Government, in such questions that couldn’t have had this consequences. Our president wanted to draw the attention from internal to international fields in this way. The other main reason was that the Government of eHungary had asked the president of our (former) ally, eAustria to help us in our northern military action by handing over western regions of former eSlovakia to eAustria and the eAustrian president’s answer had been a definite „no”. However, our president’s explanation was unacceptable by the majority of the eHungarian society as this action was a thoughtless step both strategically and politically.

As a political result, an impeachment was proposed against president Termetes Samu on the 19th of November, 2009. Soon Termetes Samu also realized that he had made a wrong a decision, he resigned from presidency and he asked the congress to vote „yes” for the president impeachment as well. In the meantime we formed a new government led by raszta, who won the second place at presidental elections in November, 2009. Although the president impeachment was supported by the majority of the congress (17 „yes” and 14 „no” votes), according to eRepublik law, it was rejected. Nevertheless, it has no affect on the fact that our new president is raszta. The new government decided to maintain the status quo between eAustria and eHungary.

As for further military actions, as first step, eHungarian citizens were ordered not to fight in the battle of Burgenland. As second step, the new government sent the eHungarian army to eAustria to help to defend Burgenland. Finally these actions led to the fact that Burgenland was secured by eAustria.

One good turn deserves another. On the 20th of November, 2009, eAustria attacked eHungary in Bratislava region, the region was secured by eHungary. So we can say, we are quits.

In short, attacking eAustria, our ally was a mistake. Not a small but a big one. Even if fighting is “for fun” we cannot abuse our power in relation with friendly states. However, we solved the problem, and kept things in the state they had been previously. I hope the people and the Government of the United eNetherlands are fully informed by this statement and will be understanding. And I also hope, that the Government of eAustria will appreciate our efforts and consider our above-mentioned arrangements as a step towards restoring our friendly relationship.

Kind regards,

Tomi_ur
