Epic Dumbness...
Well, this article is productive.
Not dumb, "special"
The point Tyler is to steer congress into actual debate. There is no debate in congress now so no progress can be made.
When debate comes so will success. Now we just have floundering. Have a visit to the congressional boards and try to follow an argument. You'll see.
Focus on solutions, not only the problem.
I forgot I was subscribed. Nice article as always. Can you make the link clickable? Votat.
I'm not in disagreement with your point on debating, or a lack thereof.
However, to label Congress, as a whole, as "dumb" isn't productive or warranted, in my opinion. Sure, there are problems, but it isn't because something is lacking in the cranium. There are just some of us that are tired of debating for the simple fact that it mostly ends in some sort of partisan, ego driven, slugfest. Thus, "dumb" isn't the word I'd have chosen.
I agree that congress is dumb, but only some of them are, not all of them.
pick me as im rather dumb XD
One Eye, you are joking right? This Congress has a lot more debates and potential than the last one, that's for sure. Granted, some stupid stuff has happened this Congress, but the actual presence and activity of this Congress is very good. Crom and I have made the boards less cluttered and I've seen that to help in the sense that I see more good debates in things like Taxes and whatnot. Sometimes some of Congress gets a little too... not professional, but regardless, this Congress is not "the worst"! Comeee onnn.
I am so not joking with this. Want proof? Read this:

If only this stuff was public, then everybody would know how stupid it is.
Just out of interest, did Congress ever debate the wisdom or otherwise of attacking Russia? If so, who was in favor and who against? (I'm fully aware that scrabman could do it all on his own thanks to the Azores ploy)
@Gertrude. Not all of congress debated it because military plans must be debated in secret, and congress can't keep a secret.
It was debate and planned for a long time. Yesterday looked like a good time because of all the battles raging. It was a calculated risk, and it didn't work. Live an learn. Hopefully.
Why don't you call out specific Congressmen rather than all of Congress...?
your right they are dumb they do everything everyone else is doing

I appreciate your perspective, One Eye.
But supporting your argument with links that are only available to the Congress is probably not all that helpful. The general public has no idea what you are talking about.
Unless you are trying to convince Congress itself that it is stupid, as some form of intervention. 😉
Thanks for the reply, One Eye. I wouldn't have expected specific objectives and plans to be discussed, but I am surprised that general aims weren't discussed. Once a battle had started, I would expect full support.
To go back to your original point, how much of the solution you see lies with the parties' selection of candidates?
@Jon. My comment was to Claire, and she can read them. I'll point out that the secret sections of congress are lame. We discuss tax changes and procedural points and all sorts of stuff that doesn't need to be secret in secret.
That's why 5 or six like minded Senators can post crap and nobody knows any better. Truly this Congress is dysfunctional on so many levels.
The first step is to recognize that you have a problem.
@Groan I don't think the political parties have much control over selecting candidates. They can only keep a candidate from running if there are two choices for a state in the same party. Two elections ago the USWP asked several candidates to switch to USWP to keep PEACE infiltrators from the ballot. They had no way to block them except with another candidate in the same state running under the USWP banner.
We need CSPAN
