The Doors of the Presidence - The United Netherlands





My fellows citizens,


Ten days have been already past since my election as President of the United Netherlands...


The first action i made was to propose a new citizen message. The old one was in Dutch and wasn't changed since the merge of Belgium and the Netherlands... Dionysus, who was president in May, started to work on a new message, and some citizens help him to improve the old message. We have also worked on the different translations. The new citizen law was accepted but there is still some mistakes to correct... You can still give us your advices in this topic :

We aslo try to improve the new citizen message with the help of our nation forum admins. The translations of the message are now hosted on our forum, and so new citizen will have easiest to discover our community :

Before the end of my presidency, i will try to propose a new law to have the good new citizen message without mistakes and with some improvements (like using hyperlinks). But what was important first, was to have a new citizen message in english, to really welcome all new citizens of our country.

The second action i took was to propose to "buy" an Q5 hospital for the Brussels-Capital Region... There was since some weeks a long debate about placing or not an hospital in a former Belgian region, and it became a priority for the parties wich are in the current government (http://www.enetherlands.nl/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=1933 and http://www.enetherlands.nl/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=2008). Calls for donations were made, and we received ~145 gold and ~900 NLG... In the same time, a new hospital were ready in our UNL Hospital company. For some, it was dangerous to place an hospital in Brussels, because of the risk of resistance wars, for others it was a strong signal to show the unity of our country... There was a lot of pros and cons reasons, they were political, military, etc... Personnaly i'm happy to see that our southern regions have now a Q5hospital and will be able to develop, and that all the new citizens won't have to move in North Region because of the lack of infrastructures in former Belgian regions. I was also happy to see that 62 citizens have answered to the poll about the placement of a hospital for Brussels (http://www.enetherlands.nl/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=2062), I hope you will be more and more numerous to take part in the decisions that concerns you !

And what about the reform thing? It was something i worked on when i was formateur and after Prime Minister for a few days. I'm still involved in this plan to give back the power to our community (Strengthening our democracy - http://www.enetherlands.nl/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=2008)... A Constitution group have been launched by the Minister of Home Affairs (http://www.enetherlands.nl/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=2082) and and is currently working on the reform and the consitution changes. There is a lot of work to do and all have to be done for the end of this congress month, because the new consitution will have to be approved twice... It's the priority of the government with the set up of a Board of Directors.

Before my election, i said that if i'm elected, i will work on a ebabyboom for our country. So, with the Minister of the Media & Recrutement, we are working on a new website to welcome new players with invitations. We are working with Niouton, a french citizen who is the father of www.ebabyboom.fr... By the way, i remind you that the Minister of Media & Recrutement is searching after people to join the Recrutement group. People are needed to help us to translate the website into our three languages... http://www.enetherlands.nl/viewforum.php?f=99

And what about international affairs ?
Being elected President also given me high responsabilities as i became in the same time a PEACE GC Representative... I had to learn how does it work, and i'm now active on PEACE GC forum and irc channels to represent our country. I have good advisors, who are very experienced, as there was already some very active players from UNL into PEACE, like our head of army General, our Minister of Foreign Affairs, our national forum admins or our Minister of Defense... In the first days, on the PEACE GC forum, i asked admins to change the name of our country from Netherlands to United Netherlands and it's now updated... Some countries representatives were also surprised to have a french speaking president for the eUNL 🙂 ...
As you saw it, USA and Canada have been attacked by PEACE GC countries in the last days... Our MPP with Russia was activated and we fought in Alaska : eUNL soldiers have done 54296 damages. So, it was some news from the presidence...

I asked you twelve days ago to open me the doors of the presidence, with the promise to work on three priority (http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/the-belgian-party-country-presidence-elections-847144/1/20)... One is already accomplished.
I hope i won't be disapointing you at the end of the month, when it will be the time for evaluate my first president period...
