The Democrats ... they're growing.

Day 698, 20:09 Published in USA Poland by Battle Kitten

As I was perusing the United States politics page a few days ago, I decided to take a look at the size of the parties. I knew the AAP had grown and overtaken the USWP and this and that, but I was surprised when I saw something: That the Democrats were now over 100 members strong. For a party, starting with a mere 40 members, to grow to over 100 in 3 weeks is an impressive feat. So, how did the Democratic Party grow so quickly?

It's quite simple really; if you have a solid product, the consumers will come. This is no different. The Democrats have the most coherent and well-written platform in the USA. Most platforms are fluff, but the Democrats made it a goal to have solid positions in their platform ... and they did it well. In addition to a solid platform, the Democrats have the name power as well as the leaders to transform American politics. Leaders like Chocolate McSkittles, ExoM7, James Harding, Joe Newton, Habraka, and so many others grace their ranks. People like George Barker and Vice President Jewitt support the movement but aren't members for one reason or another.

As a younger player, I remember the partisan politics the eUSA had to endure ... and I also remember how much better off we would have been had we taken up the game mechanics approach long ago. Luckily, the US and its parties have made significant progress. That doesn't mean, however, that there's not room to improve. I think the Democrats have the possibility to create a brand ... a brand to change the way we practice politics. Politics are fine and good, but let's just practice them the right way, OK?

For the record, I don't think all other parties are bad. In fact I will be USWP until the day I quit the game. I just really like the way this one is being run. As a former Congressman and Cabinet member of the eUSA, I've seen just about it all ... and this is one of the best innovations I've seen in the game, period. I'm proud of the progress my home nation is making and hope it continues.

Perhaps, one day, we really will see a partisan-free America.
