The 'real' reality check!

Day 1,045, 15:54 Published in Ireland Ireland by Nithraldur

First off… Hi there, I’m Nith!

Most of you know me, so I’m going to skip that section and while we’re at it.. come completely clean. I am currently a congressman for Ireland, but alas, I must admit I have not contributed as much as I used to in the old days..but then again..there’s nothing for me to vote on anyway. However, reasons for this are plentifold, which I will elaborate further on. I am also aware that people would call me ‘inactive’. Lucky for me, there are plenty of people around who see and talk to me daily, since I still maintain a large portion of Ireland’s IRC’s, so I can safely say…if you thought I was away, joke’s on you. Thought you got rid of me, did ya?

Stick around, because this is not only about me, au contraire, it nearly completely isn’t. Perhaps this is the time to issue a caution to some. If your toes are exceedingly long, I’d advise not to read on. Or if you like life on the edge, do continue.

Reality comes ‘a knockin’

So as you’ve probably read a few times now, we’ve lost Northern Ireland…again. Of course we all knew this would happen sooner or later, looking at the sheer number difference and the new module which gladly favours said numbers. However, I’ve noticed a deeper problem. Allow me to indulge you in an actual part of my eLife… Under the ‘command’ – and I use that term very loosely – of President Nogin were we allowed to partake in a few select battles, not counting the ‘unreal’ ones. Suddenly, under the pressure of several (or was it just 1?) citizen(s), we launched our offensive against the Brits, once again. If this idea was well thought through I will leave to you, my reader, but I have my sincere doubts.

Offensive you say? Well…sure, there was an offensive, heck, we even won the battle. How we managed that…beats me actually, because I was stomped. Nonetheless, I remained proud of the accomplishment. However, this does bring up an issue.. In this major battle for the ownership of the Northern part of OUR island, I noticed – and it saddens me to say this – that there is actually, NO coordination or communication between the Irish troops WHATSOEVER.

Maybe I’m wrong.. maybe people did receive weaponry and funds..but maybe they didn’t. I can only attest for my personal experiences during this whole time. I personally am a Veteran* (11) Field Marshal and didn’t receive as much as a single shell in ANY of the battles we waged…not even the life – or – death ones (Yeah, we like to call it that don’t we..) we had against the Redcoats. Of course, in case you were wondering, I did use the appropriate channels and I did follow orders (on the rare occasion that these orders did exist, and where they mostly consisted of pulling a Captain Obvious on me, asking me to fight FOR Ireland…*duh*…. anyone?). The times of facepalm – reckoning be upon us.

I wondered.. didn’t we have several weaponry companies? Didn’t we own a food company that was alledgedly built to sustain our tanking? Where did all those resources go? Or wait… maybe they were ran so ineffectively that the ‘stock’ they held was severely insufficiënt and could only sustain a few of President Nogin’s more favoured captains?

Perhaps..who’se to say..definately not me because these issues are kept safely inside the government (= a land FAR FAR away?), only to be glanced upon by the precious ‘patrons’ of our country, the nearly self – proclaimed elite that we seem to have developed over the last month(s).

Now you may start calling me the instigator of more infighting. I wish I was that, really. If I were, our problems would be far easier to solve and we could continue fighting wars where we can’t expect to win. Sadly, the case is that we are being lulled into this melody of prosperity, valour and bravoure, by the people who wish to use this shroud of propaganda to their own advantage. Might we even go as far as call it the launching pad of a new presidential campaign? If we do, then we have no other option but to regard Nogin’s closest advisors as the people with access to – at least – moderate resources or intelligence, which allows them a sizeable head start over their competition.

I only ask for the people of Ireland to look at their own experiences, to reflect on what they have endured the last month and see for themselves if I’m sailing blind or not. Make up your own mind, don’t let it be indoctrinated by the flashy media adverts and the pretty looking ‘go Ireland go me’ articles. It will soon matter, when your vote decides if you will be the puppet..once again…or perhaps be the puppeteer?

I must commend these people though. What? Stop looking at me like that, I’ve not gone insane. They really are to be commended. It’s been a long time since I’ve witnessed such a professional show, bravo. *applauds* But now really, even the best shows go off the air. Why Nith, what show are you talking about?

Exactly that. The fact that you must ask me this question, or atleast think it, is the success of this show. They have managed to not only hide their mistakes, errors and failures, but they have also managed to turn it around into a major hoax of how well run Ireland is these days. Truth of the matter is, we are not well run. We are not well organised and we sure as hell do not own a professional army. Recently we were put up for membership of EDEN, in fact, we can even vote soon in order to get in, or out. To all congressmen out there, PLEASE, vote YES. Maybe the EDEN fellas can teach us a thing or two about organisation and about military skills, because we sure are lacking them. I dare to say this because, the only effect we’ve had on the battlefield is because of the gold that was spent by particular people, by solo actions, maybe slightly coordinated with a select few. I can only cheer for these actions, but again, these things look pretty but do not win us the war.

I am severely disgusted about the way we are being treated. The worst part is, some of us don’t even realise it. It’s like they are stealing the bread of your plate and you remain unaware. Or even worse, you thank them for it. People of Ireland, use your wits. Have we progressed? Let’s take a look…

At the start of this ‘new dawn’, we were instantly set back by the loss of several organisations and a heap of gold. I will not expand on who’se responsible for what. The only thing I wish to highlight is that it has caused us a huge setback. The time it took for us to establish, recover and progress is by itself a disadvantage. A disadvantage that costed us badly in the latest battle. How the transfer of passwords and the changing of an email account is so difficult is beyond me, and I’ve endured the progress 4 times myself.

Our economy was supposed to crack itself up. Granted, miracles in this case or not possible. However, the main focus these days is to make money out of… war… War means, weapons will be sold. Weapons sold means revenue. Revenue means eventual money for the state. But.. where are the wars? I can hear you thinking..hypocrite.. you condemned the attack on the Brits yourself.. False. I do not condemn it. I say it was a spur of the moment initiative. It did not have a well devised plan, nor did it have a real tactic, nor did it have a failsafe, nor did it have a real purpose, aside from getting our island back. Too bad that when things look too good to be true, they usually are.

Do not start something you can’t finish. Buckling under pressure is something a President is never allowed to do, not if it’s not in the best interest of it’s nation. You are President to protect the people and the country. You are not President to protect yourself. In this position, you will take hits. The key to success is to roll with the punches, not throw a new coat of paint on it, tuck your head in the sand and hope nobody noticed. Sadly, it got noticed.. But hey, time for plan B, you say. If I’m down, I might as well push up one of my friends and see if (s)he can take my seat. That way we still might get to run things by ourselves and sit back in our sofa, watch the Irish workers squirm while we reap what they sow and throw back some of the leftovers. Who knows, they might even love us (again) for it.

When the fat lady sings…

Perhaps this wasn’t the best time for me to write this, but the aggravations were just too great. There’s plenty more that I can throw around, many more facts that the ‘bourgeoisie’ doesn’t really want to have the people hear, it might actually undermine their little privately run particracy. In fact, I think I can hear that little black Montgomerian government van pulling up right now…

As part of my temporary goodbye.. I leave you with these words…

Sincerely

Odd Nith

Now where did I leave that anvil and my ha…oh wait…there it is..
