Thanks to All of You

Day 584, 12:50 Published in USA USA by seeker1

Above all, I want to thank the citizens of Maine who honor me by electing me their Senator. I also want to thank my opponents, Ronald Wilson Reagan 2, Hakael, Nb97 and
Frank Peeb. It was a hard and well-fought campaign that was not decided until the final minute of voting.

Without the support and friendship of my colleagues in the AAP, I would not be a Senator today. Aren Perry, the Party President, brought me into active political participation. His collegial and goal-oriented leadership has strengthened and expanded the party. Mercurius100, the Chief Congressional Whip, organized and directed the AAP campaign. He was available to all candidates at almost any time. I cannot imagine how he answered PMs almost instantaneously and was available on the party IRC whenever I checked it.

My own primary commitment remains to work to reduce or eliminate unnecessary secrecy in Congressional deliberations. To this end, I have applied for membership in the Congressional Oversight Committee, which has jurisdiction over such matters.

My most important responsibility during the next month is to represent the citizens of Maine. I will make both my voting record and my observations on the operations of Congress available in this newspaper. I also invite each Citizen of Maine to PM me to ask any questions you may have, inform me of your concerns or provide me with suggestions about actions Congress ought to take. I cannot promise to act on every suggestion. I can promise to answer each PM.
