To everyone who supported me from the moment I threw my hat into the ring, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Your support means more to me than you could ever know. Putting your faith and trust in me, willing to put me into a position to lead you, believing in my abilities even more than I myself at times, means more of an accomplishment to me than a title or a position. It means I have succeeded in showing my true self to you, and you accepting that as someone you could trust. For what you get of me in-game, is what I am in RL. I don't deceive, I don't cheat, I don't humiliate, I don't scam, I don't lie. Though I will admit that I have been know to tell a fib.

I have made many friends while living in eIreland. It is these friends that makes my decision so hard. But it is a decision that has been made and one that I will stick to. I decided the moment that I decided to run for President, that if I didn't win I would finally leave. I joined this game on October 14, 2008. In all that time I have never left these shores. Not for one day. I know I can leave and no scandalous stories will follow me. If any are created, they will be falsely created, perhaps by those that have a very different sense of humor than I.

Farewell my friends. You know who you are. Some of you have been friends for a very long time, others quite some time, and others still, fairly new. It makes my heart sad just to type this farewell letter to you. I wish you well and hope that the choices you have made and those that you will make bring success to Ireland. My heart will always belong here and with my friends.

Sad to see you go. I have not known much about you but it is obvious how much you have done for the country. All in all its just another leaving eIreland...

The polite thing would have been to finish out the congress term I believe. A lot of people worked hard to get into the Dail and didn't make it. I would imagine it is insulting to them for someone to just throw away their position.
