TC Tales of the Dead: Ethan Deluca

The next personal account may come as a shock to some of you that have talked to Captain Ethan Deluca. Yes, you have interacted with him through a computer. Yet, you have never seen him. There was a reason for that. He IS a zombie.

He was one of the first victims of the outbreak. He was the recipient of one of our first experiments with the serum, when we thought this plague could be cured. We were wrong.

We keep him locked in the basement. We were able to somewhat stabilize him and stick some electrodes to his brain. These electrodes translate what is left of his brain function to coherent thoughts. But, he is still locked in that basement, hooked to a machine, keeping some of his brain waves alive.

Captain Ethan Deluca's story

Ever since that zombie bit my left hand off, my former TC friends have been keeping me locked in a small dark room. They didn't even try to treat my injury. I hear them talking about me now. Should they shoot me? Or would that just accelerate the process? My head is hurting and I'm starting to lose my memory. What's my name already? All I'm craving for is BRAINS.

I can hear someone behind the door. It's moving now. It's 2nd Lt. Comotose. They must have volunteered him to come down here and shoot me. I can tell he's afraid of me. He can't do it. That's my chance. I come closer to him. I want to say "Get away! Now!" but the only sound coming out of my mouth is a deep growl. He shoots me several times but it doesn't hurt. As he is busy trying to reload his rifle, I grab his head and bite. A muffled scream and everything is quiet again. My TC friends will be surprised when they see me.


This is basically what remains of Ethan Deluca.
