TC Pledge-A-Thon a Huge Success!

The month of May is special to me, it has my game birthday and my RL birthday. So I decided to make the celebration a memorable event by combining two of my favorite things: visiting the many fine establishments on Austin's Sixth Street plus putting some cash in the hands of the Training Corps, the foundation of the eUSA's military.

Simply put, I asked people to pledge USD or Gold to the Training Corps for every pub I visited. Contributors could also ask for a "special photo challenge" for an extra donation to the TC. My beautiful girlfriend agreed to follow me around with a camera and provide photographic evidence of each stop. She's a great sport, no doubt.

When I hatched this idea, I expected a dozen or so people would pledge enough to make a small dent in the TC's budget shortfalls. It turns out I grossly underestimated the generosity of the friends of the Trainng Corps! As it stands today, with only a few outstanding pledges left: 57 people followed up their pledge with generous donations, with a grand total contribution of 308.2 Gold and 3834 USD.

The Training Corps uses these funds to extend their ability to equip new war-fighters for the eUSA. Besides adding muscle to our war efforts, this is a proven mechanism for player retention and development. Today's TC recruit is tomorrow's tank.

The following people deserve a standing ovation for dipping into their personal funds to help out the eUS Training Corps, and for giving me a respectable reason to hit 34 pubs in one night. THANK YOU!
