Not nearly good enough - just look at the employment structure! Over 100 people are working in housing, and only some 40 in foods.

Clearly it\'s because of the 0% income tax on housing.

The government should get it\'s priorities right, and lower taxes for foods\' and weapons\' workers to 0% too.

Income Tax can`t be 0%, i think 15% for food and 20% for other industries would be good decision, but i cant make proposals, only vote.

I too thought it can\'t be set to 0%, but look at the Economy page.

If the avarage pay in food is higher than in housing, yet the income tax is higher, it is better for me to work in housing. People more often than not caremore about their bellies being full, than about filling other people\'s bellies.

If you claim to take care about this nation so much, your party will work towards lowering the taxes for food production workers in order to get more into the sector.

Which would be greately needed, considering we ran out of cheap food yet again...

Yeah, despite the situation I joined a housing company as well, even though I am not part of the party. At least I get my full pay without taxing. With food prices like that every single CZK counts. Especially since it would take me in the food industry about a week to earn the wage I receive right now.

Vaclav, I think I understand you, but please don\'t blame people for acting like they would be in a free market enviroment. I thought that a free market is what we are aiming for, isn\'t it? Even though you are making an effort, please understand that at least a few of us are not confident that the current crisis is going to be overcome. There should be more of an organized effort to support food industry in my opinion.
Eg. hire someone who will be able to contact new players with offer of job. You can\'t expect them all to read Cesky Today and all comments on all recent articles.
Or if wages in the food industry are not competitive enough, consider goverement support for a limited amount of time. It is good that inflation has been battled, but why not pump a few percent of the earned CZK back into the economy to get it going? 🙂

Why DO we need an income tax, anyway? I mean, we tax the money people make and we tax the money people spend. And when both of those taxes are high, no one can afford anything.

Right now, I work in the travel industry with a skill of 3. I get as much money as someone in the housing industry with a skill of 1 after taxes.

Why don\'t we just follow the example of the housing industry and just cut the income tax complete, placing it all on the VAT tax?

The weapon tax is better than before, yes. Maybe not the food tax, because we import most of it and raising it will cause some people to starve, but the weapons is better.

I think the introduction of such taxes was a mistake in the first place, as time was wasted on interventionist policies that HAD brought some effect, but not the effect that could be achieved by SIMPLY lowering the taxes in the first place.

Yes, people can go and buy CZK for gold they may have gotten, but for start I don\'t even know if I am going to hurt your efforts if I buy/sell at a certain rate. Secondly, right now I would be buying imported food (which is supposedly hurting the economy?)
