Tardigrades to help the Space Program (science section)

Day 294, 16:08 Published in Pakistan Pakistan by Al-Khwarizmi

As every Pakistani citizen must know, the tardigrade, renowned for its resilience and endurance, is one of the national animals of Pakistan, often mentioned as an example for us to follow in our daily lives under the teachings of Dio: "Endure. In enduring grow strong".

Now, experiments conducted by the Pakistani Space Program have proven that the tardigrades' resistance is not limited to our earthly world. As explained [a url=http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?id=first-animal-that-can-survive-in-space]in this article[/a], it has been found that tardigrades can survive up to ten days in open space, thanks to their ability to live without air or moisture and their natural shielding against cosmic radiation.

This magnificent discovery has led Pakistani Space Program officials to announce the creation of an Interplanetary Tardigrade Task Force to aid our brave astronauts in their secret duties in space. Tardigrades need no space suit to live in space, and can be adequately trained to perform simple tasks and work in a team, so they will be a helpful aid for our interplanetary settlers.
