Taking a sabbatical from eUNL front-line politics
Hugo McFartalot
Hi again Brusselians,
Another short note to say that I will be taking a break (don't know how long for) from front-line politics in eUNL. I wish to concentrate on the continuing re-organisation and strengthening of structures and policies in the Green Liberal Democrats, supporting the programme started by PP Steingrimur. Another motivation to step-down is to aid the efforts of our government (via practical support in and around that EDEN-occupied region) in winning back Flanders for eUNL, and I will have the freedom to do that by not sitting in Congress.
So at the 25th November 2009 Congressional elections 'McFartalot' won't be featuring on the GLD candidate list in Brussels (or anyway else). I am confident that other another senior member, or perhaps an active 'rookie', will be standing for GLD in the city-region and representing values of fairness, accountability, unity and responsible governance.
There is still work for me and GLD to do, as we continue to provide an effective opposition bloc to hold the government to account, in our national Congress.
Thank you for your support over the past four elections where I have stood as a candidate in Brussels.
Regards,
Hugo

Good luck Hugo and thank you for your help in uniting our union once again!
have a good rest Hugo!
I would like to lend a hand in Flanders to demonstrate the commitment of our party [GLD] to Flanders being returned to eUNL
🙂
Hm, strange...
Write a article/start a debate about "those who use this country like their own personal fiefdom!"
and then quit the frontline politics...
Nothing strange about that - its because of those people that I want to focus on policy instead and then return more informed, more consistent and more determined to break the stranglehold that a small cabal have on our political life.
Politics doesent just go on in the frontline - as someone who has never been a member of congress or a government minister I definately agree with that.
