As can be read in my article last night, I predicted that this might be the last mayoral elections before V1 and I was correct. (It was a lucky guess, nothing more.)

Whoever is elected mayor in these elections will not have a full month long term, they are removing the position until eRepublik's actual release.

That\'s kind of what I was thinking so that they would be able to forgo the last Presidential elections in Beta, and then they could do first V1 Presidential Elections on the 5th but that\'s really only giving 1st mandate mayors 10 days to do anything. I guess that means that these mayoral elections don\'t really matter then in the grand scheme of things unless they plan to use these results for \"V2\" whenever that comes out.

Anyway, all we can offer is conjecture and nothing solid so I guess it\'s not good to \"get our hopes up.\"

Unfortunately, they seem to be getting rid of the mayoral position in V1. I just don\'t support this move. It\'s hard to crack into politics how it is, this will just make it more challenging.
