Switzerland's Stagnancy Struggle

Day 2,100, 20:44 Published in Switzerland Switzerland by sgtchewy

A while back, a good friend of mine wrote an article that said in no uncertain terms, that Switzerland needed more internal fights to say vibrant. He was right. There are no large political arguments taking place, or economic or military arguments for that matter. We just stay at the same old, hoping that things might change on their own. Switzerland has, through its lack of social conflict, become seriously boring. I say that in that in the meanest possible way. Our problem largest problem, however, is that we can't quarrel with each other often. If a rift is created between the surviving members of non-multist Switzerland, that could spell the end of the country. I suppose that the lack of partisanship is a good thing, due to our unfortunate situation, but a loss of interest will result.

We have a single party in Switzerland. There may be seven “parties”, but there are two real mentalities in Switzerland. We need to have four or five. There are some major differences in opinion on how things should be done, yet there remains only one mindset. Members of the ATO super-mentality should be able to choose at the end of the month which of the micro-mentalities they prefer. These micro-mentalities are, of course, the different candidates. That is how it should be. We are stuck in a non-aggressive mood, a “hive-mind”, if you will. That needs to change. Everything needs to change.

The generic eSwiss citizen has a predilection for keeping quiet and not voicing complaints or disagreements. State what you think could be done better. Say it loud. I also want to see five or six articles by different people running for president. Forget about how much time you have that month. Forget how much experience you have. Just run. We could do with a close race. I want a choice next time I vote in our primary. Not between two front runners, but between four or five of them. Let’s make Switzerland interesting again. An actual debate would be nice.

Don’t believe you have enough experience, or enough support to win a candidature? Believe me when I say that an article or two will help. If we get a couple of people who are active enough to make a large commitment to run, we could even see a debate as I mentioned earlier. I personally would like to try out the idea of a live IRC debate. Maybe I’m crazy.

If you disagree with what I just wrote…please disagree loudly. I want to hear it.

Have a good day/evening/night/morning everyone.
