Am I there yet?
Probably one of the most frustrating things I’ve run into in this game is waiting to level up after you finish the tutorial at level 3. This game does a great job at introducing you to the game and seems to have a quick turnaround for the first 10 minutes and then it drops you. If Ireland didn’t have a mentor program I probably would have quit short there after. At this point you are too new to understand most of the information being published in newspapers and you haven’t experienced enough to be able to ask legitimate questions.
Where's the Logic in that?
If you fight 5 times a day, it takes you the same amount of time to go from 3-5 as it takes to go from level 5-8. Where is the logic in that? Isn’t it the point to make it harder to level up as you move along? Surprisingly, I think it does. Looking back on it, I can remember the times when I was tempted to buy the unlocking pack just for the sake of being able to move on. Are these few days of waiting worth it? I think it’s fair to say you’d be crazy to say no. If it is what keeps this game free then I am all for it.
My Plea
My plea to eIreland is to keep up the work it is putting in, and maybe even turning up the notch a bit with new citizens. I think more incentive make the mentor programs like the ones in University of Ireland should be put into place. Also, I think there should be a guide made specifically for those in the level range of 3-5 with things to read or do in the game that help pass the time while they wait. If a guide like this is available, make it more accessible to the newer citizens. I know when I was at that stage, I looked everywhere for all the information I could find and did not find anything of the sort.

To anyone who reads; are the pictures too much? I'm still tweaking around with what I think looks best.
Great article. Pictures will make the reader less intimidated by the text. A wall of text can turn away readers, so this presentation is actual very good. You show promise. 😉
Michael i feel your frustration i do as a new ecitizen last month.I feel the pain of not knowing the facts of erepublik life.
Ranking up seemed pretty quick for me and i had no problems there.
As for the mentor idea i think its great but id agree we cant progress unless we invest more time on new eirish citizens.We need to get them on board early so they dont quit im not saying MONC are doing a bad job btw.As for your pictures i like them pictures add something good to news articles

You did good on the pictures Michael! And with the university, the last two terms has been amazing, we have been helping new citizens alot more then before and its working well, hopefully this term we can make it the best it ever was.
A person I know named Lowell Kennedy wrote this guide for new citizens a while ago, its amazing and I try to spread it around as much as possible,

And you are right, it is hard for new citizens to survive in the erepublik world, and I try my best to make it the best for everyone,
The pictures make it much better. I wasn't detoured from reading the text while the pictures are there

Excellent article, love the pics, as you said above you used to dislike writin i was the very same before this game, now i actually look forward to having something to write about, one thing I will warn you about is Auto Log off, Its well a B***h, lost many a good article because of it, so I recommend you use word, notebook or google docs when writing. Hopes this helps.

Haha yes, sorry. I already have an excellent mentor. And thanks for the tip. Unfortunately I've already learned it...with my first article I hit the publish button and somehow it got lost. Had to re-write it completely..
I think this is why I'd fail at writing newspapers, since I don't like using pictures. I'd much rather just read a big block of text as long as its about something interesting. Oh well. 😁

The MoNC is a small group of very dedicated ppl who work tirelessly to improve the system while attempting to contact every new citizen as early as possible.
As for the eUni, it wasn't even working until Miss Savage got her hand on it a month ago!

Can I just say, in the 10 months I've been here, I've never seen a young player get into the Top 5 new on merit in his first couple of days publishing. Keep it up.
Wow this article has exploded since the last time I logged on. As for the mentor debate. I have many mentors I guess and the more the better 😉. Biffo is my go to guy for pretty much everything, but if there is something related to business I go to Edana. If there is something to do with Newspapers I go to Donavan Thomas. I'm sure we can fit you in somewhere orangejuice haha.
Sweet Drinker, I have heard similar things about Edana re-vamping the university. That's one of the main reasons I voted for her, and why I think she'll be a great president. She comes into positions that seem to be working fine and then makes them 10 times better.
