State of the World, day 925

Day 925, 08:30 Published in Australia Australia by Aeros

Its been awhile since I’ve done a news update, and having some free time today, I thought it would be a good time to get the ball rolling once more. Today’s edition shall be broken down by continent.

ASIA

The situation in Asia could be pretty much summed up by the activities of one country, and that would be China. China has begun to emerge as the strongest country in the Asian sphere after Russia, landing a very healthy 1.4 million points of damage in Liaoning with mobile forces alone. Since then, China has been fighting a fierce war with Russia and Indonesia over its own territory and the fate of the Philippines. In the case of the Russia, the Russians had been trying to keep the Chinese pinned down to prevent attacks on Liaoning and to give Indonesia free reign over the Philippines. By and large the method succeeded, though following the wipe of the Main Islands of the Philippines, the Russians backed off. Of concern for Russia is the Chinese gaining more EDEN MPP’s. Russia may not seem it, but it is truth surrounded by hostile powers, with the USA to its East, Scandinavia and Poland to the West, and China to its South. While the possibility of an invasion of Russia is remote, leaving around a large list of activated MPP’s can come back to haunt a nation. This is a lesson the United States learned the hard way last year when Russia, Portugal, France and Indonesia all invaded at the same time.

As the Russians have backed off for now, China has been able to go 1 v 1 against the Indonesians in the occupied Phillipines, and has made good progress. With help from Malaysia for timely initiative blocks, Chinese forces have pushed the Indonesians back to the Island of Mindanao. This has saved the Philippines from a total loss, as the Island of Palawan remains under their control. This will preserve the native Government and prevent open citizenship come the next congressional elections, though at the rate the Chinese are advancing, this point will remain moot. It is clear Indonesia has yet to be able to modernize its military to conform with standard military organization favored by the EDEN nations. EDEN Armies follow a mass formation of lower ranked citizens fighting with Q1 weapons, backed by a supplemental tanking force. Indonesia by comparison has always favored the mass tank formation, which excels at winning key battles, but cannot be sustained over a long term campaign. This strategy allowed them victory in California and Western Australia. However, both battles left the Indonesian government bankrupt and subsequent counterattacks easily brought the lost territories back under their native governments control. The same situation seems to be playing out in the Philippines now.

Of final note for Asia is the ongoing war between India and Pakistan. For some time now, Pakistan has been harboring the Serbians and were responsible for bringing the Serbs into Asia in the first place. While India has easily been able to handle Pakistan, it has come under fire from an Iranian counterattack. This is the first we have heard from Iran in some time now, though the country has clearly not lost its edge in the months of relative isolation. India’s only Ally in the Iranian war is Australia, which unfortunately does not bring enough firepower to overcome Iran’s well aged population and Phoenix supporters.

OCEANIA

Moving south over the Indian ocean, a situation is brewing that could upset the balance of power once again. Indonesian agents have successfully infiltrated the Australian Senate in sizable strength, bringing with them almost 100 citizenship passes. The fractious nature of Australia politics also means a potential Indonesian candidate will be running in a highly divided field, and could easily slip through. The Final insult to the injury is the fact that several real Australia Senators have resigned as “they were blockers and did not actually want to serve”. Might sound good on paper, but unfortunately, by resigning these former Senators have upset the power balance and the Australian Senate no longer possesses a 2/3 majority, which is necessary for an impeachment. If an Indonesian PTO Candidate wins, that candidate will remain President for the duration of his or her term.

This is seriously bad, as Indonesia has learned from its previous mistake and is trying to get this PTO through legally. Australia has since closed its citizenship application program and is moving to try and counter the PTO, though the method to proceed remains fairly confusing. The Senate recently revoked the “Political Security Act” which was designed to try and bring order to Government ATO efforts. They cited several problems with the act, which in my view, could have been fixed by amendments. Nonetheless, with the bill gone, it’s become a free for all, with nobody really taking charge of the ATO operation. The Bill had created a governing body to manage the ATO efforts made up of the Prime minister, immigration minister and the Senate Speakers. With the bill revoked, there is no longer such a governing body to run things. For that matter, there is no longer a method for providing any legal basis for any government action. This goes to the heart of why Australia may be in serious trouble. The various political factions just cannot seem to get their collective will together to face the Machiavellian truth that is staring them in the face.

If the Indonesian coup succeeds, Australia will most likely be occupied in its entirety. The fight will then be to try and restore what we can so the Senate does not cease to exist and provide open citizenship. If Australia goes under Open Citizenship rules, Indonesia is sure to swamp the country with its superior population and it will be game over for Australia. But I’m sure several Senators will console themselves by saying they defended democracy to the very end.

NORTH AMERICA

North America is once again in the news with the recent Spanish/Polish PTO of Mexico. Spain and Poland had tried to invade Mexico several weeks ago, in an action that ironically doomed the Polish Empire as it gave Phoenix the impetus to make a final push on Poland’s territories in Western Europe. It would seem that neither country is finished with the Mexicans, with various “independent” militias gaining control of the Mexican Congress. That have since begun draining the treasury of its gold and money, as well as signing self destructive economic measures into law, such as increasing the minimum wage to 50 dollars. This is designed to terminate the Mexican economy and force the original inhabitants to flee or face starvation. To try and halt the issue, Mexico is attempting to merge with Venezuela, though this is proving highly complicated. All the PTO needs to do is keep one territory free and they can maintain their control of the country. The simple truth facing Mexico is that Venezuela is simply not strong enough to do this. The final Irony of the situation is that there is an enormously powerful Non-EDEN country to Mexico’s north. I am of course referring to the United States, who would have been in a position to assist Mexico if they were so inclined. Of course, they are not inclined at all, thanks to Mexico’s compliance with the PEACE invasion and hiding behind a Non-Aggression pact with the American’s by swapping Colombia to the US border in order to block US initiative against the Russian invasion. The unofficial US position on the plight of Mexico is, and I quote “Scrab them”.

EUROPE

After weeks of almost incessant warfare, Europe has begun to calm down, with Canada’s blocking war with the French ending in nasty glares across the Atlantic and Poland successfully swapping into Scandinavia. The fighting in Northern Europe has been over the usual suspect, and that’s Denmark. A tiny and highly strategic nation. The Danish Government had opted to allow whoever wants to use its territory to use it, so long as they left the capital alone. Of course, this neutrality did not stop Serbia from PTOing the country and setting off a grinding war with Sweden. The dust has yet to settle on this one, though the positioning of Poland in Scandinavia could ultimately prove useful if ever it was decided to invade Russia using Poland.
