Stan Wephen - Party President of the People's Communist Party

Day 323, 12:00 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Stan Wephen

I am running for Party Leadership for the People's Communist Party.

What will I do for the PCP?

Party Constitution
- I believe it is time, as it were, for the PCP to raise that flag and show what they believe in and what stands true no matter what. That is why I aim during my month to finish writing the party constitution, and give the PCP the ideology it needs

Forum activity - The most essential part of the PCP, and indeed, with any party, is communication, and the best way to communicate with others of the same party is through the forums. I want to encourage PCP members, as I have been doing for months, to join the forum on http://uker.forumotion.com/forum.htm, and on which we can continue to build up the PCP into a great party

Buddy Scheme - I want to continue the Buddy Scheme, where one new PCP member is assigned to one senior PCP member, in an effort to get newer players into the political scene. It's had mixed success so far, but I feel with proper encouragement it could work!

PCP updates
- Last week I made a newspaper article with the updates from PCP HQ. This proved to be suprisingly popular, so I want to continue doing that, so everyone in the PCP knows what we're doing

Next General Election - I belive the PCP has a good chance of winning the next General Election, and I will work my hardest to give us the best fighting chance, and at the very least, give the UKRP a run for their money.

Country President nominee
- With (hopefully) version 1 of Erepublik coming out soon, I want to have widdows9000 as the PCP CP candidate. I feel personally hes the best man for the job, and has a lot to offer the eUK, and thats why the PCP will continue to back him no matter what.

And that's pretty much it. The rest of the article is just going to be stuff about what I've done for the PCP so far and my past experience, so if you're not interested in that part, just skip it. I hope you, the PCP voters, choose me as your spokesperson so I can be your voice.

I was born into the new world on the 22 May 2008. On the same day, I joined the People's Communist Party. I would like to say I made a well-informed decision, but I didn't - I just like communism generally. However, upon deeper inspection of the politics of the parties, I found I didn't make the wrong choice, and the PCP was right for me.

About a week later, I became part of Piperbunny's administration of London, known as the London Council. I've been serving London for the past 5 months now, 3 months as a Councillor under Piperbunny, 1 month as the mayor of London itself, and again another month as a Councillor under Squiddy. It's safe to say I've a lot of experience in dealing with large groups of citizens.

After between 2 weeks to 3 weeks of my joining the PCP I created the role of PCP Secretary. This was a completely new role, the aim of which was to get PCP members off the 2-clicking and onto the fourm. It's had mixed results - many PCP members have come onto the forums, but many more did not respond (now that I think back, its probably because I sent more than 30 messages at once, which you can't do). The PCP Secretary also arranged the first PCP buddy scheme, which again, came with mixed results, but happily, exists to today.

That same month, I became a congressman for the PCP. I quickly immersed myself in the government, learning the protocal, and have lived thourgh some massive changes and reform (back when I started, there were no Trade Unions, no transparent government and no police department). I've been a congressman for 4 months now, and have made a fair few proposals of my own. Basically, I've got experience in government and in congress, and know how best to meet the PCP's will in the executive.

I've been heavily involved in shaping some of the modern institutions we see today. I've already mentioned Trade Unions, which, alongside Tim09, we created. During my term as mayor of London I created Transport for London, an organisation dedicated to moving citizens out of over-crowded London to areas that were less populated and needed activity boosts. Also, more recently, I created the National Newspaper Association (now taken over by the Ministry of Information) which would on a weekly basis publish links to the best articles from the previous weeks.

About a week before the last General Election, there was a general consensus on the forum that I was the Party President of the PCP and widdows9000 the country president nominee. In effect, that meant I was running the party, shaping the last manifesto and running the election campaign. Unfortunately due to RL circumstances, we did not win, I think the campaign was well fought, and the mistakes we made have now been rectified.

In short, I think I should be the PCP PP because of my experience, dedication and commitment to the PCP. I hope that you choose me to become the leader of the PCP so we can work together to make the eUK better.
