Squiddy's Manifesto For the Bristol Local Elections

Day 266, 10:01 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Squiddy

Dear residents of Bristol,
This thread is to officially announce my standing for the local elections in Bristol, August 20th.

Why would you want to vote for me?

Well, that’s a good question. I think that to be a mayor, you have to put the city and all the citizens before yourself. That means making time for the people, ensuring a sound infrastructure and going that extra mile to firstly make sure that the people are happy, that they are getting what ‘they’ want and secondly to minimise any traces of corruption that could potentially shame Queen and Country.

What am I bringing to the table?

I feel that the most beneficial quality I can bring to the table is my dedication to the job. I can ensure activity, not only in myself but also, hopefully, in my citizens. With the help of different schemes aimed at bringing more people to Bristol, which will in turn relieve the pressures currently strangling other Mayors throughout the UK, but also bringing more of the right people to Bristol.
Should I be elected, then I will make the following points my main goals:

• A return of the gifting process – Any active citizen below the 95% threshold will be entitled to gifting
• A maximum of 12 hours response time to any PM
• All local taxes to be re-evaluated
• Guaranteed activity in council meetings
• A greater focus on bringing new and active citizens into Bristol
• Higher employment rates

Not only will I aim to achieve all of the above to the best of my ability, but I will also turn my attention to citizens, to hear what they want and need as a community. As well as the local community, I will also be looking in on how to better the commercial scene of Bristol.

So please, if you want to see a rejuvenated Bristol, vote for me. If you want to feel looked after, respected and valued as a citizen of Bristol, vote for me.

Finally, if you want this city to become something great, vote for me, Squiddy, and I vow to bring Bristol the glory it so rightly deserves.
