Spread the Wealth

Day 656, 11:46 Published in USA USA by Cody Franklin

Good day, America. I hope that things are going well for everyone today.

You all know my message: Peace, unity, and fellowship among men; however, this message has fallen upon very few ears; you see, this newspaper doesn't reach 10,000 people; it doesn't reach 1,000 people; I'm sure it hasn't even reached 100 people yet. I have a wealth of knowledge to spread, America; but, I'm afraid that I'll need your help to do it.

It's unlike me to ask for help; but, in the way that our great nation ought to be able to rely on each and every citizen, so to do I hope that I can rely on your support, America. I like to think of myself as a representative of the American spirit; as the voice of the American public; but, as I've said, I am not reaching the American public. I've learned that, to get anywhere, I'll need to expand my horizons.

One avenue that a friend directed me towards is advertising. In that way, people would see my newspaper each and every day, and they would be more easily drawn towards the message of hope for American strength and prosperity. Unfortunately, advertisements cost gold, America; and, I may have the power of words on my side, but the power of finance is something that is sorely lacking. In simpler terms, I am quite broke. I have no gold, and a minuscule amount of US Dollars. America, let me be the first to say that I hate asking for donations; handouts are not exactly my most beloved source of income; I believe, as much as anyone, that a man's success should be determined by his will to work for it; however, my work here as a voice of pride for the American people does not make me a profit; that wasn't, after all, the purpose of creating this newspaper. The purpose of my presence here is to inspire you, America, and to inform you of the strength you possess as a people, and of the necessity of cooperation with one another. From that message, I will never waver.

I would not stoop to asking for handouts if I did not have good reason, America, I assure you. It need not be anything large scale; a few USD, a bit of gold; it doesn't even have to be monetary, America; perhaps you vote on an article, or subscribe to this newspaper. Subscriptions help to spread the word just as much as a few gold coins would; so, I need nothing grand from you, America; I need only enough to get by.

In return for your gracious charity, let me make you a promise; I have not fallen from the task at hand here with this newspaper, and I do not intend to. If you can find it in your hearts to provide even a small bit of support to my cause, then I promise you that I will do my best to repay it in the best way I know how; the more support I have from the American people, the farther my message can reach; and, the more of my wealth of knowledge can be spread. Know, America, that together, there's nothing that we can't accomplish; look at democracy; alone, one or two votes may not mean a great deal; but, united for a single cause, a multitude of votes can change the fate of our great nation, and put us on a higher road. In the same way, a small donation on its own may not produce grand results, but united, these little pieces add up, and can revitalize this great cause.

I have done my best to guide this country through its hour of need; when our enemies stood at the gates, I reminded you of the strength of the American spirit; when we went through reconstruction, and the reclamation of our territory, I was there to help citizens get up and do their part; and now, America, in my hour of need, I trust you to be able to do what you feel is best. I have faith in you.

The strength of this cause depends on you, America; this is a fact; the reality - there's no changing that, because, as I've said, truth takes no sides.
