"Sgt. MacKenzie" is a lament written and sung by Joseph Kilna MacKenzie, in memory of his great-grandfather who was killed in combat during World War I. It has been used in films and television, most notably the 2002 movie We Were Soldiers, as well as being covered on multiple albums.

The title of this article may not fit exactly but in my mind it does since this entire article is copy and paste except what I'm saying with this paragraph. I may be doing more articles like this. I feel somewhat inspired to write again. Who knows, maybe a collaboration is in the future? I'm not sure where this will go.

I do know this song haunts and inspires at the same time. I love the movie it was in and just wanted to share. 🙂 Enjoy!
