I hope that you understand my point in the post below. This is not about martyrdom or being hurt. We are admonished to reach out to the world with the love of Christ so to bring them to the saving faith of Jesus. Be careful not to judge others, that is not our job.

All this faith/religion talk is making me really cringe. I mean I don't have anything against being religious, but all this religious talk with not insight into the issue (or no context) seems just like senseless blabber to me. I wish you all the best in your situation tho, I'm a firm believer that your faith is what you make it, so be strong.

I know it is very random...the reason is that I read something online that kind of fueled me and so I wrote this on a social media website and posted it. But I really felt like I should post it here. I didn't want to make any debates or anything, I just needed to say something. 🙂

I know better than to troll females, but what the heck, I do things I know better than to all the time. Enjoy your faith but please allow others to do the same, nor forget that Jews are the cause of two major world religions, which have follers hell bent on killing many that disagree with them even if they are supposedidly of the same faith (and that should tell you a lot about religions). Personally being a southern American white male (mostly), I find Zen the most democratic of the religions...all of us have God within us and it is up to us (individuals) to find that which is in all of us...

I applaud that you take a stand for what you believe. Not enough people do that nowadays. However if you don't mind an observation by one that's been down this path...

While a confession of faith is good for the soul and is indeed necessary according to this passage...

Romans 10:9-10 (NKJV)
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

...you should not confuse this confession of faith with the Lords final command.

(Be careful reading the rest of that chapter. Most Christians freak out.)

My point is that most people respond poorly to being slapped in the face by religion. Especially today, the Christian faith is not received very well. There are many reasons I won't go into here. Let's just say it's not "politically correct". I find the most effective way for me to evangelize is to just be who I am, help who I can and love those who let me. Then when they are receptive I have their permission to speak about what I believe. This is not to say that street corner evangelism is without effect, it is just not my way.

Just remember you confess your belief to fellow believers just as you are baptized as an outward sign to the world. You "preach" to a willing audience as you would give them cause to want to listen. Don't run off the audience. 🙂

It is interesting to see actually how much religion plays a part in older countries (democracies) and how little it has a role in my country. Religious people are basically a minority here.

Sorry Hunter but first of all you cannot rationalize that all of these problems would be lesser if people were more religious. Religion isn't that type of wonder cure. Secondly, really, most of those "statistics" or "hand-outs" as you called them, are just a bunch of he say she say. I wouldn't believe half of that. Better have some good goddamn sources or I'm putting it down as senseless bad propaganda.

Also I would like somebody to really explain to me why Russia is at fault for HIV/AIDS and suicide spreads. The blame for high HIV/AIDS rate is on already independent Estonia's passive ass government. The highest suicide rate thing I think is mostly mambojambo. Unless Latvia or Lithuania actually have big big problems with suicides, because I believe we're somewhere in the centre spot on the charts with that. Also that site seems like crap if it says "Domination by Russia", seriously guys, USSR wasn't just Russia. I'd never trust a site that doesn't even differentiate between such simple things. I'm not sure about highest divorce rates either, I'm fairly certain that the western countries are bigger with that since that's where the "tradition" of divorcing has been imported here.

Honestly I try to be respectful about other people's religion but when people start giving such false information as facts I really cannot help myself. What am I to expect tho, religion has never been good with facts...mkay.

I understand, and thank you, but I think you maybe misunderstood me. My point of this is to simply proclaim my faith. I'm not trying to evangelize unless someone wants me to. Well maybe my title is being misunderstood as well. My meaning is that if they wish to slander me, I can take it. If they wish to pick a fight, or yell at me or anything, I won't fight back, but I can take it. I'm saying that I'd like to share this and if they don't like it, I can take whatever they say.

We've had this discussion. It's not so much "publicly broadcasting" as others commonly "broadcast" their beliefs, feelings and opinions, but rather in the manner with which the topic is approached.

FWIW, I'm not posting anymore to this article. The thing will devolve into a sorted argument about which religion has the biggest jack asses or my god is bigger than your god. The atheists will be around shortly to condemn everyone spouting religion as escapees from the mental ward.

Well,... usually I stay out of conversations like this. But I just want to add, that even though I'm mostly an atheist (being closer to buddhism as a life style) I still believe, that every person has the right to be of the faith they choose. So with that in mind, dear eDaughter, I stand by you. You don't have to hide your faith and I'm happy that you're proud of it. As long as treat people, like you wish to be treated (in other words allow them to be of a different religion and not hold it against them).

Also I love you the way you are 😉 And I'm with your step eDad on this - if we need to kick some booty just let me know 😉
