Society Detox

Day 2,022, 22:53 Published in USA USA by Evry

Hello America,

Over the past two weeks or so, the eUS has been in turmoil domestically. Despite our military, and our allies kicking butt all over the World, the discourse within the country has been aggressive, combative, and negative to our goals.

Mob mentality

The cause of this is due to some screw-ups and fumbles from various different people/organizations. This includes a scandal involving AIM’s leaders not supporting the ATO due to confusion and reluctance, the AMP Political Party having its congressional ballot stolen by a Serbian sleeper agent, and the WTP miscounting the days in the month of May. These events could be blamed on many different people, and we, as a country and a community, can spend weeks and months playing the blame game. However, there is one thing that everyone can agree on. It is time to move on.

Move on.

Since all this hullabaloo began, we have lost many good citizens. Some have left due to the toxic nature of the community as a result of all of the needless bickering, and others have left since this game has become more of a chore to them, simply because they’re not having fun anymore. This needs to stop.

The eUS community in a year if this continues.

We need to stop driving away the good ones with threads having no intention other than needless trolling and insulting others. We need to stop having certain IRC channels be a 24 hour insult-o-rama consisting of non-stop trolling and insults with various former community leaders stoking the flames.

What happened to the sense of community where citizens would jump at the chance to help a party, MU, or friend in need? Instead, we now have a community where citizens jump at the chance to insult, troll, or ridicule a party, MU, or friend in need.

SO MANY TROLLS!

We need to become a community of fixers, rather than critics. If you see something that needs a helpful tweak, or perhaps a beneficial change, suggest it. If you spot a potential trouble spot or something that can bite someone in the butt down the road. Don’t sit on your thumb and wait for the “delicious tears”. Help a brotha out and they’ll be more likely to return the favor.

Offer a helping hand every once in a while.

I ask you, America, to grow up and move on. We obviously have some problems that need fixing, and what that fix needs to be, is up for debate. However, we should be able to do this without forcing eRep players to quit or move to different eCountries. Players should no longer feel the need to cower in the showers for fear of ridicule or trolling. We need to get back to kicking our enemies’ collective butts and taking names. Let’s focus on our enemies and make them pay for their own weaknesses and screw-ups, rather than tearing ourselves down and racing to be the first person to ridicule someone else. Sh*t happens.

What will you do the next time someone makes a mistake? Will you be the a**hole trying to make stupid puns in an effort to make them feel bad? Or will you be the responsible citizen offering them a helping hand trying to better our community and make it more enjoyable for everyone involved?

Let's detoxify our community, America, and make it more enjoyable for everyone.
