Situation in Cuba

Day 5,839, 12:41 Published in Cuba Cuba by Ernesto Che Guevara.
Hola, my dear compañeros and compañeras!

As we struggle during these turbulent times, unfortunately Dictatorship needed to be installed to counter the stolen and fraudulent presidential elections we witnessed on 5th of November. Believe me, there is nothing more that I would have wanted than us living in peace and putting steps further towards our Socialist Paradise, but unfortunately our former friends in Spain did not take it to their liking that we want to grow independently from them, so the action needed to be taken. While we all long for peace, it does not seem like an option until these European Colonialists go home or integrate.

Our country has been mismanaged for far too long, so it is finally time to take matters into our own hands and make Cuba the Socialist Dream it deserves to be, so that the tables are turned and even those pesky Floridians jump into boats and try to reach our coasts in hopes to join us!

The Socialist Dream

All of my predecessors have wrongly interpreted how socialism in Cuba should look like. Their idea has always been to squeeze as much money from the people as possible to fill the treasury and national orgs. The cause has always been to “later redistribute it”, but, in reality, that currency in many cases was later sold for RL money on the black market. Not anymore, my compadres!

My plan is to have the perfect mixture of collectivism and private property, not because I like capitalism, but because there is no mechanic in this game to nationalize property. For our collective good, we have perfect mixture of resources – Deer, Oil and Saltpeter. We have made an agreement with Lithuania about Saltpeter resource concession, which will net us 80-100k a day, which in turn will allow us to launch a 500k cc a week activity program! Unfortunately, Taiwan, due to our turbulence, opted to seek Oil resource elsewhere, so this leaves us at crossroads to decide whether we use it to the benefit of our players, or do we rent it out to further our non-player tax revenue.

And for private property lovers, my goal is to make Cuba a country with the lowest Work Tax rate in the game! To achieve this, Minimum Wage will be lowered from 1000cc to 1cc, so prepare and find a buddy who you could exchange your work tickets with for 1cc to keep all of the value from the tickets to yourself! Currently the lowest average wage is in Bolivia at 1540 cc, so company that works in Bolivia takes only 15.4cc in taxes. I think we could do better than that and reduce our tax rate below 10cc.

I know this sounds more like tax haven instead of kolkhoz we all dream of living in, but the game mechanics does not allow to force communism on anyone, so the next best thing we can do is to leave all the means of production to the people so they can develop their accounts faster. This method also comes with the added benefit of not requiring stupid amount of bookkeeping, because everything can be easily observed.

Political alignment of Cuba

Many of you are wondering what happens now, are we joining Hydra or what? No, we are not. Cuba and Hydra have found some partnership opportunities which benefits everyone involved, but we are not joining them. We are not going on kamikaze missions for them or anything like that, we are an autonomous state that has good relationships with them. If everyone goes according to plan, I think you will be very happy about the progress we make – we will be stronger, we will be richer, we will be more active, we will have more fun.

Other important notes

We have restored our Training War with Latvia and this morning even held a D4 epic with them. Those who were worried that they have gone rogue, fear not, as they were closely cooperating with me while the illegitimate government broke the agreement we had made with Lithuania about Saltpeter resource rental. They will also return our taxes.Unfortunately region stability is not a luxury we have until the situation with our foreign intruders from PCC is concluded. We need to keep all of our options available to fight against them, so if you see a Training War not going in the way it is supposed to, don’t be angry at them, be angry at Partido Comunista de Cuba for being the cause of the inconvenience.

To my opponents

It pains me to say this, but dissidents will be hunted into oblivion. I know some of you were confused which side to be on because there was conflicting information about who the good and who the bad guys are, but now things should be clear, so consider this to be the last olive branch I am holding out. Being associated with the foreign terrorist organization Partido Comunista de Cuba will cause problems for you. So PCC members, please, do us all a favor and go back where you came from, you are ingenuine in your intentions, hostile with your presence, and useless with your capabilities. Please, end this circus and go back to Spain!

In conclusion

Upcoming weeks will be turbulent, but we will prevail! Unfortunately we must approach things with great caution, because our opponents from PCC can strike anytime, but we will manage. The first steps are to stabilize our economy and start the activity program, so please, first step is to find yourself a player who you could swap work tickets with for 1cc. I will also keep you updated in country feed about the plans for other resources, and I guess the next article that will be published, will be the launch of our activity program. Don’t know exact numbers yet, but I aim for 500k cc weekly budget, 400k cc being the bare minimum. Lets continue to move forward and I see you at the launch of our activity program!

May your cigars be extra aromatic and ¡Viva la Cuba!
¡Viva la Revolution!
