Signs of Hope in eAUS?

All my commentary does have a point.

Yet I know I can seem a bit - shall we say - forward for a noob. But here's the way I see it: when you come across a person who is shooting blood from a major artery, you dispense with the niceties and get down to business.

I do see signs of hope:

1) The posting of information and opinion has gone up from zero when I started.

2) Callumh's radio blog is a great example of a different and creative idea that is trying to move things forward whether you agree with his opinions or not. I salute the effort.

3) There are some who do work for eAUS in other ways than just fighting the same tired diplomatic wars.

However, this is still a community that is far too wrapped up in itself and unnecessarily off-putting for new players. There are blinders that say we have to focus all our energy and effort on debating foreign policy. The discussion is still too far removed from basic game mechanics.

The lovely exchange between TJ and Binda on the radio episode yesterday is a case in point. I don't intend to be insulting. Let me say though that outsiders find such things quite remarkably bad in a way that I don't think those wrapped up in it can see.

So I say: Give me more signs of hope eAUS! Let it have nothing to do with the treaty with eChile no matter what happens there for I really could care less.

Hope. It's what we need. Try to work for it beyond the treaty with eChile.
