Signing the Peace Treaty
NoneSuch
Editor's Note: I'm only pro-signing if HR gets his 2nd term in office. If someone new gets elected, maybe someone.... nicer... who knows what could happen? That's a completely serious comment. It's obvious that HR diplomacy hasn't been working, maybe Hoss or Emerick diplomacy would actually..... exist?
- Why? -
- To put it shortly, Because we're going to lose everything if we don't! At PEACE's current terms, we have to pay 250 Gold per region and let them keep California and Hawaii, correct? With every region the price to recover becomes higher, not only because it's another 250 Gold, but because that's another piece of our economy missing. Want to know another reason why it's only going to become more expensive? Because PEACE gets more leverage, thus, higher demands. PEACE isn't going to stop, plain and simple... And when we're forced to sign this treaty (it's going to happen) just imagine how hard it's going to be coming up with 12,000 Gold (the cost of all our lost regions) with a single region.
- What About Our Allies? -
- The reason why your leaders won't sign the treaty is because it would "screw over our allies." By signing this treaty we agree not to fight PEACE in any wars against PEACE. We must declare peace with all PEACE nations and sign a non-aggression pact with all PEACE countries. We must also remove all military and PTO personnel from every PEACE controlled region. This does not mean that we have to remove military personnel from our allies' countries. We can still help them fight their wars! Look, we can either keep "helping" them now with our broken country until we're down to 1 region, or we can make as fast a comeback as we can and actually make a difference. We're broke as it is, we're not doing anything other than prolonging the inevitable at this point.
- I saw someone comment in IRC on this by saying, "I don't want to fund PEACE's war against Spain". Uhm, not going to happen. According to the contract there is no timeline for payment! This means we pay them when we want to, when it's convenient for us, when we rebuild our economy/military/country.
- California and Hawaii -
- To be honest, I'm glad they're keeping those regions. We deserve it. We need to use them as a reminder to stop being pompous jerks when it comes to foreign relations. Those 2 regions will not be lost in vain! If anything they will motivate the eUS to come together and fight back one day! But for now, they're just going to have to be scars on our pride. But just imagine... in 2 weeks, when we have 1 region left... just imagine how many regions PEACE will want to keep then... Sign now or lose even more!!!
- Post-War (Without the treaty) -
- Let's see, everyone is going to leave the eUS, we'll have 1 region without any high raw material regions, be in tens of thousands of Gold in debt, and will be nothing more than a memorial to our own false sense of pride. For once America, please, just give up.

Interesting perspective...not sure I agree yet, but it's certainly worth considering.
Don't sign the treaty!
Well, like you can fight in other countries, you can yearn gold in other countries. Why not lose all of eUS and then work and fight in your allies' countries, before you can afford to buy eUS back?
So, because I am not nice, I am therefore an incompetent military commander?
SUPERB LOGIC.
HR, you're an ePolitician, it's a massive stretch to call yourself any sort of leader.
So other than taking this article to a personal level, what are your thoughts on this from a professional perspective, Mr. President?
Debatable. Good points. Very Very Debatable. Agh, hard times.
I agree with the treaty, PEACE has kicked our asses, they can name the price. The sooner the better imho.
I think it's idiotic. I think we'll lose all of our allies and become, more or less, Germany. Hopping from alliance to alliance and now no one really trusts them.
We're basically paying PEACE gold to attack our allies with. 3 months later, once all of our allies are gone, they come for us to finish us off. Meanwhile, we're broke from our weekly payments to PEACE.
I prefer not to be a cheese eating surrender monkey.
Harrison - Did you even read the smaller text? There's no time limit for repayment according to the contract I found. We can pay them after this war is solved diplomatically. And hopping from alliance to alliance? Under your "leadership" that may actually happen, but have you ever actually been a person with some of our allies? I'm sure plenty of them would love to stay allies under a newer, more reasonable administration.
I am still pro fighting. Don't give in, although This article definitely makes me second guess that. Why must you bring up such a good point. And HR, I do agree that you are just a politician, but a good one. The military is at command and we must realize that. HR just is the one that follows the command up and sets forth the attacks, retreats and what not.
I personally am still thinking to stay in it till the end and fight to the last. Might as well give it all and try to succeed rather then through in the towel early. So, it is 12,500 in the future, victory in the future, or the little payment now with ever lasting scars.
Clody - I'm still fighting, I follow orders the orders everyday, no matter how much I may disagree with them.
Find an ally who doesn't like me. I'm pretty sure it won't happen. I speak with our allies almost hourly.
This war won't ever be solved diplomatically. We have to repay PEACE sooner or later. We can't say "IOU, pay you in 2 years!" and forget about it.
Not according to the contract Harrison.
PEACE never approved said contract.
I just want to say... if possible... we should only sign a treaty if it also involves non-aggression against our allies and the return of one region to eNorth Korea. If PEACE is still a defensive alliance as its charter declares, it shouldn't have a problem if all of us and our allies pledge to stop attacking PEACE nations, if they agree to not wage war on us.
I think the Russians will want to keep Alaska as a souvenir, too.
Not voted. You may have personal grievances with HR but don't drag us into it. I supported that you shouldn't have been banned but not this ridiculous treaty.
Fight fight fight! (or die trying)
Exactly, we have zero leverage when it comes to any peace talks. Maybe if we can get them on the run then we could sweeten the terms to our favor.
if you feel this way why dont u just move to indo and help them out
Sorry NS, I can't agree with you on this one. Just my personal philosophy that we keep fighting.
Harrison, you killed our economy with your high taxes, that's why we lost the war. Do something decent and sign the treaty while there's still a chance!
USA you will be assimilated if you listen your President.
We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own.Your culture will adapt to service ours.
Resistance is futile!
PEACE GC
Greetings from eSerbia 😉
I think you fight until the death, then PTO Indonesia and ruin it (Like wipe it off the face of the Earth, print out billions in currency to ruin the value of the IDR, ruin MPPs, whatever.)
.
The USA failed this war, but giving them 12,000 Gold is the dumbest thing EVER. It would give them the money to Tank against the world.
.
But whatever you want. I am just here to help myself 😛

Your going to get them on the run???? When is that going to happen?
Just abandon the eUSA everyone. HR destroyed this country to the point that it can not be fixed
