Should We and Can We Leave Atlantis, and if so, When and Why?
Weasle
Well, this seems to be coming up a lot nowadays. Some peoples, are like, eAmerica=Atlantis for life. The other group are like Atlantis=MadFaice. And we all hate mad faces...
So I suppose it's time to bring some rationality and clarity into something so important.
First, we can and could leave Atlantis any time we wanted, and be just fine.
We wouldn't lose all of our MPP's from Atlantis, as they would keep it either out of friendship or out of fear of losing us. You can have the MPP's and not be in the alliance.
Peace, in thier unending attempt to reign in more power for themselves would see America as an opportunity to further cause. The catalyst for tilting the balance in thier favor.
Finally, there would be some Non-Alliance nations who whould be interested in a neutral America.
So it is quite feasible for America to leave Atlantis. In my opinion, it is them who needs us, not we who need them.
However, the question is should we leave Atlantis... to this I say no.
The only reason to leave Atlantis would be that we could do things our own way, without the regulations and rules. In effect, we would have more freedom. However, if we were to leave Atlantis now, then the power balance could shift quite decidedly in Indo's favor, and quite quickly. If in the next major battle between the two, our tanks arent on anyone's side, who wins? My guess would be Indo...
And if Indo defeats Romania entierly... a highly improbable event, then they would stand unoppossed for the most part, in thier quest for world domination.
So, if we do decide it is best for us to leave Atlantis, then we will have to wait for the right time. Like, at the current rate, if Romania starts wiping the floor with Indo, and Indo begins to look shakey, it would provide the proper opporunity. A Indo in that situation, would be looking, needing something to help them out. That would be us, the US. And so our future would be sure.
Of course the most likely event in the Indo-Romania war is this. Whoeve activates the other's MPP's first will win. Why? Easy. Once the MPP's are activated, they'll turn the tide on whoever is attacking them, lets say Romania is the one who activated Indo's, for argument's sake. Well then, Indo, in it's righteous fury, would drive all the way to Romania, and its MPP's, wasting away precious guns, and other supplies, driving them to overextension, and then Romania, and its newly aquired MPP's would be able to take advantage of this, if done properly/hoarding weapons, and they would then be able to push back and win the war.
At almost any time during these events, America could easily leave Atlantis. But should we? Ahh, that my friends, I leave to you.

Yes. you could leave Atlantis cuz, as you said, we need you not the other way around. BUT ! no one knows how this game will look 200 days from now. One thing is for sure: by leaving you will make enemies in Atlantis and also lose credibility towards other nations. You gotta think before doing such a move and Im sure you will make the right decision no matter what that is. As for the new alliance you will join: some members might wonder if they can rely on your loyalty or if they will find themselves alone facing the enemy as its possible ur interests will change again.
America would benefit from a weaker Indonesia AND a weaker Romania. America has a vast number of native territories and fairly good starting resources, coupled with one of the largest native populations. If you could make everyone stay inside their natural frontiers, the economic advantage of America would be vast, and it would have no rival.
@ Maraxis, oh yah I don't think that all of Atlantis would join a third alliance/american based MPP. And lots of thought would be required before doing that. As for credibility, it wouldn't be about that, it would be about the freedom for the members to do what they want. In a supposed third alliance the only real thing that we could gain would be freedom, and other nations would want that too.
@Comandanta Ramona OFC thats why in my article I suggest switching sides if the time is right, so that they both beat themselves up while still both retaining thier independency.
