Serious Dilemma
William Walker
Gentlemen. I have a dire problem. I am lacking financial strength to get a new computer to ensure my enjoyment of all things that are computer games. I am unsure as of what to do concerning my future gaming needs.
I am here asking for your help.
Should I A) Get a new computer to fulfill my gaming needs? This would result in a whole new workout since I am not willing to just put in new bits and pieces of my dusted and 2 year old computer. To get a decent computer, my latest calculations have lead me to a total of approximatly 700€ that would have to be spent. A hefty sum for a student of my finesse.
Or should I get B) A gaming console. This is divided into B.1, B.2 and B.3.
B.1: An XBox 360.
B.2: A PS3 or
B.3: A Wii (Note: My family already has a Wii, I would just take it or something)
My dilemma is that I enjoy strategic games and I find it absurd to think that it would even be remotely possible to play a game so divine for example Empires:Total War, using a controller. However, enticed by the beauty and grace of Grande Theft Auto 4 I am lured to a console.
I wouldn't be asking this if my computer were good enough to run GTA IV, or Empires:Total War, so I am here for your help gentlemen. Please, discuss which is superior.

yes get a new computer that will be obsolete in a couple years...
If the PS3 had as many or more games as the 360 I'd buy it but it doesn't :3
Also, Live costs + MS is proly BSing about the 10-year life cycle since the proc's already maxed out.
You should get a PS3. At this stage in the evolution of video games, the PS3 surpasses any PC you could assemble or purchase.
There are so many games it's hard to list. But I'll mention MGS4, Tekken 6, and GTA IV (which has been proven to look and play better on PS3). Plus, it's an awesome Blu-Ray player.
Whatever you do, don't get a Wii.

Get Wii Music and then we can share videos. :3
You obviously need a new computer.
Bear in mind that with a little effort, any game on a console /can/ be played on a PC - and you're going to need a new PC just to do regular things that don't involve gaming at all at some point as well, so you may as well kill two birds with one stone and maybe keep your old one aside as backup.
I just bought a PS3 with GTA4 and inFamous. Infamous is a pretty cool game.
For me the big decider was the Blu-Ray though.
So my answer is A
This a trick question? I mean, aren't they all now computers only some have little to no browsing capabilities, cost extra cash to play their games online, and well (insert dead-horse beating contest here).
Go with A) Save your money and go for it, computers are the only -right- way to play a Total War game.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAA
You can get a blu-ray player on your computer if you really want.
Play video games.
