Serbia and Hungary leave Phoenix - End of Superalliances?

Day 1,135, 18:02 Published in USA USA by Trent Lawrence

You heard it here second or third folks, the Serbian President recently announced that he was pulling out of the gross orgy that was Phoenix.

You can find the exact words in this article: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-eng-version-below--1620064/1/20

EDIT: Sources have stated that Turkey and Hungary have also left the alliance.

With this I would guess that Phoenix is about to disband, soon to become lost to history as PEACE and Atlantis were before them.

With the news that Hungary will be leaving afterwords, this further backs up recent speculations that the world is going into a new (less boring) phase of warfare and diplomacy.

The long awaited "Regional Alliances" like the former (Or is it current?) Asian SOL and the American PANAM could be the new way of life for the New World.

This could be seen as the final nail on the coffin for Phoenix, will a United EDEN proceed to steamroll any countries now not protected by Hungary and Phoenix? Or will the Polish-Romanian situation escalate to EDEN's eventual collapse?

EDEN
In my opinion, EDEN will eventually give rise to new regional alliances, same as the way Phoenix is going. The whole point of the Superalliances was to extinguish the other but once that is achieved there can be no other goal quite as epic as that. Europe will divide into 3 or 4 factions (Because GF knows that they can't stop fighting for 10 minutes) and the experience of Erepublik will become much more interesting 🙂

AMERICA(S)
PANAM could arise to be a great power in the Americas, creating an impenetrable block (but surely not untested) thatt European powers will still try to break. And what of China? Their actions against the heresy of sand or whatever those cultists call themselves haven't done much to endear themselves to some high ranking politicians in the United States, could a new front open?

INDONESIA
And what about Indonesia? Do they still exist? Are Indonesians still important? The answers are who cares, maybe and no. However they are their own regional alliance, as all of their neighbors have been invaded by them at one point or another. I predict Indonesia owning the South Eastern corner of the globe in a short time without vigorous foreign aid.

SUMMARY
With the imminent disbanding of Phoenix, EDEN will have to reasses their goals and look at what other conquests they might fufill. Poland and Hungary have been getting closer and this could escalate to Poland leaving EDEN and joining in an alliance with Hungary. Regional alliances could start to erupt as Southeast Asia tries to resist Indonesia, East Europe struggles to end old feuds and the America's attempt to band together. It'll be interesting to see where the West European countries go in all of this as they are mostly Phoenix with the notable exceptions of Spain, Italy and Switzerland. And not to be forgotten is Iran, who finds themselves in a good position of allies on either border (for now) and a new slew of diplomatic opportunities.

Stay tuned America
