Self-importance of players in eRepublik
Citizen 9273915
After being away for years, I decided to try eRepublik again.
I originally registered in January 2010. After playing for a few days I quit. I guess it was not easy to start due to complicated gameplay. I mostly played in summer 2012 to fall 2013 period. After I got hooked, I even spent around 30€ for packs (mostly directly buying gold).
I auctioned off my eRepublik account level 48 for a (whopping) $3.79 USD! Now that I think about it, it was not worth it. But at that time I had no intention to come again, and I wanted to recuperate at least a tiny amount of my money.
After reincarnating in my current profile, I was stunned by the apparent necrosis of eRepublik!
There are very few newspaper articles, most of them incomprehensible junk. I would later realize those were mission-only articles. Only a few bigger eCountries have non-dead newspaper scene. Even half of the top 10 international articles are not in English.
Then lack of activity in military units. Most of the members are dead citizens. Even some MU commanders. MU feeds having posts months old. Daily order was not manually set in the last 3 months. And so on.
To add insult to injury, the military alliance is still lopside
😛eSerbia, its colonies (Thailand, Japan etc), its allies and its allies' allies account for two thirds of the firepower. This sometimes happened previously, but it did not last long. And the imbalance was closer to 55%.
Many others players complain about this (articles are easy enough to find 1), but they still keep playing. Why?
My guess is that it is easier to achieve accomplishments. Every other player (by my impression thus far) has, or has had some official function or top medal: minister, country president, congressman, top fighter, legend of eRepublik, even dictator!
Even in these 2 weeks since my reincarnation, I managed to get 4 medals and 12 decorations! I would not be surprised if my first medal in the original play-through was hard worker!
Will eRepublik die? Doubtful. There will always be new people to try the game, and they will stick around for a few weeks or months. Some of them will buy some assault packs or other goodies, thus keeping eRepublik Labs financially afloat.
Lastly, game mechanics are still working. It is not as glorious as in the old days. But I am writing this article to complete the mission! If you appreciate this more than begging-for-25-comments-articles (which are rightfully despicable), give some votes, subscribes, shares, and, of course, comments!

I'm agree with you, and anyway myself I play since 1month, I spend 15mins by day here, between shopping online, social network, etc... but I will never spend more time on such game without meaning. there is (for each of us) a real life much more interesting to live, so I hope that people will think about and will play here just their lost time, no more, because such game don't deserve more 🙂
good read

Truth
After 6 days I found your article, but such yesterdays papers I love. 😉
As a four day old player in the eUSA, I have had a different experience. I've joined an active Military Unit that supports me, gives me direction and the ability to fight effectively. I've joined a Supply Commune. The Political Party I've recently joined is already helping me learn how to be active in Politics and Business. Right now I'm just a soldier with a shitty Company, but the feedback and supprt I've gotten gives me hope that I'll be able to be a strong, contributing member of our society.
This being said, that might just be my experience; Being in the eUSA.
eUSA is one of the biggest eCountries, and one of the best organized.

Agree. That's more and more like a "happy farmer" game, and less of a social strategy. But there has always been a lot of two-clicking.
