Second Day and still level 20!

Ok so... I guess it's uphill from here but no biggie. As the 2nd day rolls along I am starting to get sense of what I want and how I want to play but I also have some questions or concerns on the mechanics.
1. I am noticing everyone has a lot of strength. I want strength! I did my training and accidentally spent gold I was intending to use to update my free gym; which leads me to number 2.
2. Gold, I want gold! So other than breaking the wallet out, is there a systematic way to get gold? I suppose I can try to work the market, but I am willing to sweatshop it if need be for guaranteed results.
3. MUs and why have I been told there are better ones than my current one? I am somewhat of a pseudo-socialist so if you got handouts I will take them! I will certainly fight for handouts!!
4. Is politics really worth it? What are the benefits? I was also thinking of forming my own party for all the females that play this game, CCR (Canadian Chix Rox)! I estimate a membership of one, but hey, that can only change for the better! So ladies, whose with me!
Well other than thinking of ways to make this newsletter more interesting that is what's on my mind at the moment. I would really like to hear from MUs and Political parties to see why they are worth joining so please feel free to spam with comments!!

best way to make gold is through training centers... save gold and upgrade when you can... once you get to full Q4 your SS medal comes sooner... at lower levels try to save your zookas and ebs and go for Battle Heros when you can

A good calculator which shows how much you can make strength, profit or loss when training. Also I would save my gold for the training gounds sales (upgrades -45😵 which come every now and then. Also when you have all the TGs upgraded to Q4 and have a -90% training contract on full training becomes almost free.
The training contracts pop up pretty much monthly and cost gold, -90% costs 53 gold.
Generally all my gold comes from not spending too much and collecting hard worker and super soldier medals. The state of the economy now means that I've been losing money at a steady pace whenever I want to tank or spend a little bit of it since I never actually spend real life $$ on gold.
Saving money gained from the new players missions can be crucial to long term success.
Some MU's have better supplies, check around, PM's commanders and ask questions to see which is best for you.
FYI - there is a program to hand out free food each day to those who need it (up to 500/day free) the player "Doctor of Souls" runs it http://www.erepublik.com/en/citizen/profile/4898925 there is a link there to a form you fill out to get the food, I used it everyday starting out and it helped a lot.
I don't recommend getting into politics just yet, train up and be involved with the community and start to understand the gist of what's going on everyday. If you do however want to join a party, make sure you know what they stand for and if it's right for you or not.

In game, at my age, I'm like the crazy old cat lady, probably one of the few that are still around in this country.. and crazy because I'm still here.
Currently, because of your age and because there is no congress, I recommend not getting involved in politics. Nearly every aspect of eRepublik has its own learning curve which all take time to observe. Similar to Hazmat's comment, I recommend getting involved in a community, which can be found in a political party.
Or just be my slave...that works too. I need a frappe boy ;3
