Save the CAD - Addy Lawrence
Alby
This is a call on the President to use his political and economic muscle to restore the Canadian Dollar to the beacon of strength. With over 700 Gold, the Government could work to boost the CAD above 1000. Our neighbors to the South, America, has been able to increase the value of their currency by nearly 25% in recent weeks. While we've fallen close to 30%. The value of the currency is a clear reflection on the failed economic policies of the Government. If this administration is unable to improve the purchasing power of the people, then by all means, it is time to retire them en mass.
Rally behind the Loonie.....

1280? Isn't that ~ what it was the last time I checked? Like 3 weeks ago?
Or for those looking to start a business, saltpeter and cattle farms with SS and HW gold.
or am i doing it wrong?
Throwing gold at the market is a short-term solution for a problem the Admins will not let us easily solve. If there isn't the high demand for CAD that is required to revalue it, then things will just return to usual after a while. Sadly, economic policies only work when there's a proper economy : (

No.
If the USD can rise to 775, there is no reason the CAD should be at 1300. The first thing is the Government needs to stop injecting $100,000 every few days back into the economy. Government spending needs to be cut so the number of CADs in circulation declines and the value of the CAD increases. Couple that with tax policies to extract more dollars and Gold sales and we could be sitting on a 500 to 1 Gold exchange rate in no time.
Also, No.
The problem isn't with the Govt, it's with the Admins. The Admins inject CAD into the market every hour by purchasing excess products from the marketplace. This isn't something we can stop. In the past, we have tried limiting spending and extracting as much CAD from circulation as possible, but that had near to no effect. Plus, we are still in a war with the eUK, so limiting the funding to our MUs (which is essentially the only thing we spend CAD on anymore) could prove fatal.
The only suggestion I would make to help revalue the CAD would be to put an emphasis on, as Plugson said, building saltpetre mines and cattle farms. If many people were to do that, it would remove CAD from circulation and raise the demand for it, but there is still a limit to how much an affect that would have.
Alby, the government is not injecting $100,000 into the economy each day, that money is "old" money. That money is money collected from taxpayers that is put back into the economy. It has no dilution effect at all. Your argument does not hold water.
Taking money out of circulation to strengthen the CAD has been attempted in the past, this was done over a year ago, it doesn't work. Admin buy-bots have injected so much money into the economy that we have a veritable ocean of currency in circulation and the measures you describe are but a bucket of water relative to it.

The problem isn't with the Govt, it's with the Admins. x2
As many have said, govt can have little effect. If the majority of our citizens did convert their gold to CAD and then burned it in buying lands and cattle/saltpeter, then we might see a small and temporary bump. Of course, if that excess production of RM is purchased by the bots, then even more CAD will flood the system. fail cycle
Admins Suck. They've ruined this game.
The question is what will the Admins' next change do? From their message, they hinted at a possibly large economic change, so we may have to revisit this discussion after that.
If we are plagued by an ever deflating Loonie, then I'm pumping my cash into Commodities
It would be nice if the Admins gave us a Central Bank and the Government the ability to issue debt
the past attempt by the gov. to hoard dollars was a crock. It was short lived, when politicians saw the gov. coffers grow they were drewlling all over them selves to spend it. We have a stupid idea in canada that we need a balanced budgit with no low savings. we are able to burn dollars. And I have an idea. Give every new player $10,000. they will invest it in their land, then realize this game sucks and quit! bye,bye dollars!
Central Banking Separate from Government Control (Maybe Randomly electing Bank Governors) with the ability to control the money supply and buy debt or gold (and to sell it) in order to insert or extract dollars from the economy to keep it balanced. Government could set Central Bank limits that if not met force a new random selection of citizens to be elected.
But overall, Government should have no control over National Monetary Policy, only Fiscal Policy
Stay away from purchases that require Gold such as Energy Bars and Bazooka Parts. Buy companies in CDN dollars and food / weapons on the CDN market
That wouldn't work Alby. You can't fight the Admins. Also, Kronos, if we invest our CAD in Q1/Q2/Q4 raw material companies it only takes it out of circulation temporarily as eventually the Admins will have bought enough of the raw material produced to have returned all the CAD it cost to build those companies back into the economy, unless you always manage to sell above the price that the Admins buy at, which isn't likely.

The money supply is expanding so, therefore the price of gold will rise.
The good thing though is that as our currency gets undervalued foreign investors will come here to buy our cheap stuff. (WRM, FRM, weapons, food)
The price the admin puts on our stuff sets the gold currency. If our stuff is expensive we'll be able to buy stuff cheap and sell it here for more.
