Russia: An Awkward Scenario

Day 416, 02:47 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by MDU Press Office

Minus the virtually resolved conflict in Argentina, our battles against PEACE are over. It is difficult to determine how successful the objectives have been, but the point has been made: We as a nation will stand up to the forces of imperialism and will not allow bullying on the global stage.

Yet however some people choose to perceive, we now have a crisis of that same variety of bullying imperialism on our doorstep. Romania, one of the cornerstones of ATLANTIS and biggest military presences, has subjugated Russia. This invasion had no casus belli or discernable purpose, merely for the point of conquering such a large territory.

In hearts and minds, a larger psychological war is being raged. Romanian propagandists hijack articles calling for Russian independence, the movement's leaders are attacked and the needs of Russians are ignored.

In the rest of the ATLANTIS world, disapproval has been a dirty word. It is considered vulgar, even disloyal, to condemn Romania's antics, and its propagandists have already been beaming their messages to our countries. To attack Romania is to attack ATLANTIS, and to attack ATLANTIS is disloyalty to the extreme.

The Movement for Democratic Unity believes that imperialism for its own sake cannot be tolerated, no matter where it comes from. We will speak out, and join with our Prime Minister Deathtoll in any sanctions he may choose to impose. Our sympathies are with Russia in this case, and we hope independence is possible.
