Running for Re-Election to Congress out of Louisiana

Day 729, 13:16 Published in USA USA by Tyler Bubblar

Election day is creeping up on us again. Last month I ran for the first time for a seat in Congress. My platform then was one based on a promise to be a steady and careful member of congress. I did not throw out a lot of promises about infrastructure, war policy, transparency, and taxes. I did have opinions about those topics, however I felt that since I was not currently a member of congress and privy to the ideas and debates of congress, it was not my place to promise change. That has always been something I despise about politics. People with no direct knowledge of the decision making process criticize the men and women in leadership in order to achieve power themselves. Frequently on reaching office they are presented with the reality of the situation and usually fall short on their flowery promises of change they used to get themselves elected.

Having spent the last month in congress I have been able to read carefully through the debates and proposals and cast my vote accordingly. I can say that I feel the eUSA is on a good course. We are repaying our debts we accumulated in the war both foreign and domestic. We are honoring our obligations to our allies. Our economy, while not blowing anyone away, has stabilized. The members of congress work diligently to keep our eNation strong. In all honesty I have been more than a little impressed with the amount of time, research, and care that my fellow members of congress have put into the execution of their duties.

Let me shift gears a bit as I stated before I feel that we as a nation are on a good course. I feel strongly that we need to continue the course we are on. We need to keep trying to mentor and help new players stay interested in this game of ours. We need to answer the calls of our leaders in helping our allies defend themselves from the onslaught of PEACE and its former members. PEACE was founded as a defensive alliance to protect the weaker nations of the world. It is safe to say they have become a corrupt, greedy shell of their former selves. We must stay strong so that we can help the Slovakias and Malaysias of the world. These two small and peaceful nations it would seem drew the ire of PEACE with the sin of being a weaker neighbor daring to host war games. I very strongly believe that each and every nation on earth should have the integrity of their sovereignty in their own hands. No nation should have to fear a stronger nation perched on their borders eager to swallow them up.

I have in the course of writing in my newspaper touched on a common theme many times now. That theme is to deserve victory. We must be everything that our enemies are not. We must be kind, compassionate, loyal, trustworthy, generous, and honorable. Let us persevere in helping one another as fellow citizens who stand in defiance of tyranny, imperialism and oppression.

When we were reduced to just Florida things changed. Humbled to the depths we banded together. Private citizens began donating moving tickets out of the kindness of their hearts to help displaced Americans get to florida. Others donated their gold and cash to the Flying Unicorn Squadron for the same purposes. Still others reached out to new players to help them get things figured out.

The media was filled with stories of determination, hope, and inspiration. We all were thinking in the corners of our minds that the eUSA was finished, but we were all set to go down fighting. Then the forces of PEACE blinked. The size of the wall in Florida was so daunting the invaders left us an opening. Emerick tricked the Indos into closing their mpps, and we commenced with "training wars" that ended with Indonesia being pushed back to their Islands in the Pacific Ocean. The Russians were the latest of our uninvited guests to leave. They did not leave quietly, they convinced Mexico to violate the spirit if not the letter of our NAP with them. Colombia was eventually evicted through RWs, and an offensive by the eUSA that was made possible by our allies in Norway and Canada blocking Hungary and Russia respectively. I suppose France deserves some mention they managed to march forward for a time going against centuries of training that made them masters of their favorite manuever: the retreat.

The last few months the eUSA has shown that they have learned many hard lessons from this war. We have learned from our enemies how to take advantage of game mechanics to turn a situation in our favor. We have also seen some rather nasty tricks by PEACE baby killing companies chief among them. It has been argued that Romania was the creater of this tactic. That may or may not be true, I am new enough that I was not playing this game during the time this filthy tactic came into being. There has been much talk of us doing the same thing to our enemies. I have been and always will be adamantly opposed to it. We must show we are better than those we struggle with. I believe we have done that. The Brolliance and EDEN have put themselves on the line time and again. The accomplishments of Spain, Canada, Greece have been inspiring and amazing. Norway risking annihilation to block Russia was gutsy. The way the other Scandanavian nations covered Norway was again a perfect example of the value of stalwart and loyal allies.

Now we have finally managed to move the Hungarians out of North America. I have to be honest I looked at a few of the battles two and a half hours before they closed and called it another failed attempt. I am awed by the sheer amount of dedication that drove those walls down in such a small amount of time. Let us keep pressing forward and reclaim others lands. Canada and America no longer have their lands occupied by invaders. No nation should. Let us continue in our efforts to free occupied regions and nations that PEACE has under their collective boots. Let us continue to band together and support one another.

As your congressman I will continue to give my best efforts in helping us as a nation stay strong so we may be safe from PEACE, and of course deserve victory. It is my hope that we may one day drive this corrupt alliance back to their original territories. When election day comes I would be honored to have your trust once more in representing you the citizens of Louisiana, in the halls of Congress.
