Running for Party President of the DPJ!
tarasino
Dear members of the DPJ,
My name is tarasino and I want to ask you for your support and vote in the upcoming PP elections.
The reasons why i want to become PP of the Democratic Party are simple:
First, I don't want the DPJ to end up like the Sakurakai. And i think with the current leadership, the party is stagnating. The PP we have right now, had enough possibilities to achieve whatever he wanted to. A PP is a leader and not a guardian. He leads his members toward a common goal, not isolating them in the dust of inaction and illusory well-being. DPJ is not doing fine and eJapan is not doing fine. Yuki had enough chances as a PP of the Democratic Party and as MoS during the first Nowe Cabinet to contribute for the well-being of the country. Usually when things got tough, he chose the easy way, for him and the DPJ members. And now eJapan is like this. To say that we, the DPJ, did good when all eJapan is wiped is unforgivable.
Second, eJapan needs an active political life asap. This game relies heavily on politics (foreign and national) and nations without a functioning political life end up declining. And the bitter truth is that eJapan is declining full-speed, we are losing this game and the desperate condition of the 5 top parties is one of the main reasons why.
Being a Party President of a top 5 party is a responsibility. It means you are one of the 5 leading politicians of the country It means you have accepted some obligations toward the other players, not only the members of your party but also toward eJapan. If you don't want to be politically active, don't be a PP. If you can't be active, retire asap. No bullshit, no excuses. Otherwise the entire country will have to pay a dear price.
A candidate for party president should make measurable, transparent and clear promises and propose practical solutions for the real problems eJapan is facing right now and not speak generally about democracy, happiness and the usual populist bullshit. So this are my promises:
1: Write and put up for vote a Party Statute within 2 weeks
- Making mandatory that a member can not be Party President for more than 2 times in a row.
-Defining what a president can decide alone and what has to be decided by vote
-Implementation of a small food program for new party members through a non-obligatory party membership fee.
2: Write and put up for vote a Political Program for the DPJ within 1 month.
3: Support a Candidate for President that stays for that program and not because of personal sympathies and who also accepts at least one member of the DPJ as minister in his Cabinet.
4: Making DPJ one of the most active political parties of the eJapan and major factor in stabilizing its political life.
Thank you for your attention!

Good luck :3
Best of luck
Our community is too small to keep switching between PP's every two months, you'd run out of people fast or have new people with no clue holding the seat. PP's should be changed when the community feels their time is up, and votes them out, given a better candidate is around.
Putting a new person in an important position can be more harmful than somebody having a monopoly over it. Food for thought.
Good luck, you have good ideas and I'm glad to see some activity floating around.
Good luck ! But what is Yudaken doing ? I'm a bit clueless...
@Oraizan, rotation of power is an important feature in democracy. Otherwise it leads to cronyism, basically what we have right now. New people deserve a shot. If we only value experience and close ourself to a new perspective we end up like now our many PPs are, cynical and bored. No more than 2 terms "in a row", make a pause, leave some space and then next month you may run again. Otherwise it is not a fair competition with PP winning because of habit not cause of merit. Enforce renewal.
I agree, switching PP's when people feel like it instead of giving a new person the chance to take the reigns every month is a terrible idea.
Then tell me why during the Golden Era we did amazingly, when presidents lasted for 2-4 terms? Now no president lasts more than a term, and eJapan isn't even a shadow of what it once was? New people do deserve a shot, when the majority of the party thinks so.
If you represent a party and people feel you're what they want from a party then you should stay, if not you should go. If that changes within a month, then it changes. If it takes 4 terms for you to burn out, it takes four.
What you need to push for is showing people that when the time comes and a President is burnt out, the title should be passed on. Be it before elections or for elections. There isn't a time limit on usefullness.
