Running for Congress in Canterbury

Day 1,129, 14:29 Published in New Zealand Turkey by Manny Calavera

Good day citizens of eNZ!

Many of you probably don't know who, Xanthar Zaiban is, so I will give you a brief idea. I have played this game for over a year, with a large part of that in the eUK, where we live and breathe politics. I think I learned a lot during that year, and I would like the chance to learn a little bit more, which I can’t do just sitting on the sidelines. I am fairly active on the forums, but not so much on IRC, I have ridiculous problems with my internet, but I do what I can. I have no previous political experience; however, I do have plenty of experience in eRepublik, which has to count for something. There are certain subjects that I know are near and dear to our hearts that I would like to touch on, so here we go…

1. Phoenix.

I know some of you read my article about Phoenix and I received some heavy criticism, but such is the life in eRep. I don’t worry about the criticism, because that is the price of having an opinion and voicing it. I am however, worried about the future of eNZ into rushing into an alliance with Phoenix, being as that we are supposed to be fighting with our brothers in Australia, and how can we expect to continue our relationship with them by joining Phoenix?

2. Our Serbian Countryman

I wrote a couple of different articles about this when I first moved to eNZ, you can find these here and here. I do think that Don KronoX has done a very good job with running the country at this point, and I like a number of you are very happy with how he has run eNZ. However, I would like to try and see if I can negotiate with the ‘Serbian/Slovenian Majority.’ I am not trying to downplay the work that other people have done in congress, because I know there has been huge efforts to try and bring the country together, I just want the chance to try.

3. Our Defense Force

Having a strong and disciplined fighting force is the key to being united. I didn’t see what was wrong with the first NZDF and I feel that certain people wanted to join, and expected to be given positions of power straight away. I don’t know how you feel about that, but you can’t join the RL Military as a General, so why should the NZDF be any different. I will say that if we have two separate armies, one for our Serbian/Slovenian/wherever else brethren and one for the rest of the country, that it seems to me that it would weaken our ability to function cohesively as a fighting unit. We would have to issue two sets of orders for everything, which I feel would be a mistake. Also, if we have two different armies, it doesn’t go anywhere to bringing us together, in fact, I think it just pushes us further apart.

Thanks very much for your time, and I feel that if I am given the chance to represent Canterbury in congress, that I could do big things for everyone. I have already written a couple of newspaper articles with the basic functions of working, training, and fighting., which should give you an idea of the kind of Congress member I could be. I thank you for your time and wish you the very best holiday wishes for a Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year!

Thanks for reading.
