Running for ADTP PP

Day 992, 20:36 Published in USA USA by Indrae

This month the party experienced an epic failure in the congressional elections. We were able to get only one of our legitimate candidates elected. This reflects the fact that our party is severely lacking active members to serve as blockers and mobile voters. Now that we’ve had the chance to analyze our mistakes and weaknesses, it’s time to start looking forward and take steps to make ourselves active, efficient, and, overall, a party that can make its members feel welcome. That is why I am announcing my candidacy for ADTP Party President.

A lot of you might not know who I am. That is why I would like to dedicate this article to introducing myself to you. I started out playing the game during World War III, a time when the eUS was being invaded by PEACE, and on the verge of collapse. After a hectic few weeks of learning the game, I decided to join a party in September 2009 (this party, when it was called the Libertarian Party, before it was called the Liberty Party, before it changed its name to L.I.B.S., before it was called TAMA, and finally, ADTP…the name changes get kind of annoying). That decision was by far the best decision I’ve made since starting to play this game. Then PP Daphne Lilac helped me get started out in the State Department (where I remained for about 10 months), and after a few months, I ran for Congress, and won.

When the LPSC (basically the Libertarian Party version of the EC we have now) was formed, I was one of the original members. This injected me into the party leadership, and after Sydiot stepped down as the chairman, I was picked to replace him. I helped organize primaries, debates, and other important party events. Unfortunately, at the same time I became the chairman, the party president became inactive, leading to a stagnation of party activity, and the eventual decline of the Libertarian Party. Fast forward a few months, and the LPSC was dissolved, TAMA was formed, and then the ADTP and a new EC was created.

After seeing our failure in the congressional elections, I feel compelled to step up, and lead this party to greatness. If we put forward the effort, we can turn things around and make our party more active, more successful, and set a strong foundation for future success for the party.

In the next few articles I will describe my plans on how to increase recruitment, retention, along with how I plan to deal with other issues facing our party.

Please attend the ADTP PP Debate, August 10th, 17:30 eRep time.
