Rocking Our Little Boat

Day 286, 06:26 Published in Ireland Ireland by mac_talla

In the real world, Ireland has very little, if any influence, where global affairs are concerned. She isn't powerful or wealthy and she has always been vulnerable to the whims and greed of those who would be conquerors but she has never shirked her responsibility to stand against evil. She has always had her honour, and because of it, she is respected, even treasured, by the citizens of the world.

There have always been those who argue for the more expedient, the more acceptable path. The path that will keep our friends content and will not draw the attention of our enemies. Fortunately, Ireland's sons have never listened to those voices and have instead, shouldered their rifles and marched to stand and fight beside those who are being oppressed.

In eIreland we have the same happening, today. eIreland's sons have heard the cry of the Hungarian people and have decided to answer the call, yet again. I am new here, and I do not profess to understand all the ins and outs of epolitik but I get the general drift. "We don't want to piss off our allies. There are rules of the game that needs must be followed."

Well, it may not make me popular and it may set me up for the ridicule of the newbie, but I am in complete support of our countrymen who are at this very moment leaving eIreland's shores for Hungary to help them in their struggle against aggression. I will help them in whatever way I can and I am proud to call them comrade.
