Return of the cat
BuzzyTheCat
I have to say, I am disappointed. As some of you know, I had some severe real life issues (got fired from my job, evicted from my condo, and had to move back in with my mother) ... All in the span of about 3 weeks.
It took me 2 months to build up a system that could stand the test of time. Putting Generals and Colonels into place, working on communication within the ranks, building trust with my generals and Squad Leaders...Now, what do I see when I come back? . My military is a complete mess. People haven't been paid since I left. Generals who were the lifeblood of my system were fired for no reason; Generals go MIA/resigned/get fired, inactive presidents, and mass confusion...
Just WTF did you people do to my dam country in a little over a month? I understand I put in much more time than most people in the game (about 30+ hours a week on the NSC office) but seriously, how do a few people screw something so great up so badly? A monkey with 3 brain cells could have taken over for me and kept the system running. But somehow all the work I did preparing people for my leave was for nothing. The only thing anyone had to do was add new recruits to the training academy, send out acceptance letters and pay the dam troops.... I did everything else, everything was completely set up for a smooth transition. How the hell did something so simple and easy go so badly wrong?
Who is even the NSC Director now?
In the next few days I will be making a decision on what it is that I am going to do. I honestly don't even know if I should run for NSC again considering it would be like starting from scratch... which is something I do not look forward to. 🙁
So now my old friends... talk to me. Get me up to date on the fiasco known and the eUSA and her military. Please tell me there is at least SOMETHING that hasn’t been completely destroyed since I left.

Welcome Back.
Sorry to hear about your recent troubles. I am also sorry about the state of things as you return.
The military got into quite a mess. As far as I can tell though, it's coming out the other end now. Slowly getting back on track.
I know I haven't been paid since you were in charge though..
Hi, Buzzy
It good to see you back 😉
Oh, It is sorry for me to hear about so major problems in your RL Life. I hope you came up and you are near to straight.
About military I don't know for me as a squad leader which resigned it was that new administration wanted to much info from me and soldiers which I command. I understand that there is need to be good communication between me->sergents & soldiersme but for me it become to much bureaucracy. So for now I only train by myself and wait when in really eUS will need me.
Our military is more, not less, organized now. We're moving in the right direction, not the wrong one.
Back pay is because of Kokach & his administration. No one was paid during it. Every week, soldiers are paid on time.
Just because the military is different doesn't mean it is worse. You did an amazing job as NSC director, now we are building upon that and adding the finer points to make our military a well oiled machine.
I agree with Franco. Military does seem more organized.
In any case, great to have you back, Buzzy. Sorry to hear of your RL troubles, hopefully it'll get better soon.
Moishe seems to be getting things back on track here for us all sir. Welcome back!!

Oh yes, glad to hear at least your RL situation is improving somewhat.
Thanks for the nice things you said guys. It is weird... this is just a game but it makes me feel "loved" when people remember me and the work I did.
I do have to say though, the picture you paint about the military getting better is not what I am hearing from my old friends. While the military might be more organized... it seems like it came at the cost of nearly my entire old staff 🙁
I don't know how the Army is doing (I do hear Moishe is doing great so far), but the Marines deployed perfectly to Sweden. In addition I was paid on time and received logistical supplies during the conflict.
I agree. I didn't like some of the changes myself (read up on Justin v Franco, example 12002052502430 regarding CJ, which we've since let die) but in the interests of moving forward, some had to be made. Kokach, while a nice fellow, didn't really run the military well. It was, for lack of a better word, in shambles when I took office.
Chimichonga Barbosa is now the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. This is a 3 month long position that is subordinate to the NSC but not under the NSC, if that makes sense. The NSC, and the President for that matter, have no control over the person who is the CoJC except when a new one needs appointed (see: Supreme Court).
Moishe, our Army General, is amazing. I doubt you'll find a better General in Erep, I kid you not.
Our Marines are well funded, organized, and ready to fight. They have been deployed to a few FFF wars to gain experience.
The NG is a work in progress, but it is a "newbie melting pot" per se with some politicians mixed in.
Our military, as a whole, is headed in the right direction thanks to work from you, Kokach, and Chimi and of course the Generals along the way. We know backpay is an issue, but unfortunately it's too large to handle right now. Once API comes out, along with mass donating, we'll solve it. Until that point, we'll pay every week (something most countries DON'T DO, mind you) and save the backpay for another day.
Check my papers and some previous articles if you want a more detailed review. I wrote two long articles pretty much only on the military after I took office.
I've been paid and the new system for requesting pay (The google form thing) is a great idea.
But that isn't to say the system isn't without flaws. There are a lot that I see and I imagine a bunch more I don't.
Welcome back 🙂
Hey Buzzy welcome back. And as far as I can tell it's the same system you had with just more positions added into the CoC as far as I can tell, but I could be wrong.
ATTN: MOISHE
1-The only thing anyone had to do was add new recruits to the training academy
Hardly possible when there was no enlistment procedure in place and no up-to-date records given that could be utilized.
2-send out acceptance letters
Hardly possible when at least half of the Squad Leaders refused to respond to PMs. Perhaps they were let down by the way things went. That was not my doing. I was trying to keep things working and they refused to do their duty. Those that did not got replaced.
3-pay the dam troops
You say "dam troops"? That was not very respectful of them was it? I say "great troops"! Why do you dam them? In spite of there being no NSC, a President that left unceremoniously and records in total disarray we are getting the job done.
And we will continue to do so.
1. We did have a procedure... I was handling all new recruits as head of communication. Up until the day I found out I had been fired (and days after). I'd get a pm from people and either add them directly to the army or put them on the new enlistment sheet so either the general of the NG or the Marines could assign them
2. I was sending out the acceptance letters myself... It was being done.
3. I think this was the weakest of your points as you tried to come off making it sounds like the person that has probably put the most into the eUSA military barring maybe moose) hates the troops. Lies and slander.
Well you shouldn't have contacted Moose or Buzzy as I was handling enlistments. And you know that's probably why you were originally assigned twice into the military. I had assigned you and was waiting for the squad leader to confirm it and I guess Kokach then also assigned you. That's ok though I thought it was my fault at first 😮 good to hear it wasn't.
Also Buzzy created the whole military from scrap built it up from 100 disorganized people to 300+ organized people that functioned properly and fought in multiple wars and also deployed successfully.
You haven't done nearly as much as Buzzy or probably even I since most of those things you've listed don't take all that much.
Also since you think it's fun to be nit picky with peoples words...
OH LAWLZ YOU SAID YOU HAD TO PM 4 PEOPLE WHEN YOU REALLY PM 3 and DID an article for teh laster one!
oh hai buzzy 😃
glad to have you back with us 😁
sorry to hear about RL problems 🙁
i've had my share of RL issues as well.
Gah! A Talking Bank
heya buzzy. good to see you back. get yourself over to irc sometime, missed ya.
sup Buzzy. I saw you on CE a few weeks ago.
Buzzy -
No one here (myself included) is discounting your amazing job as NSC Director. Being the one who initially hired you in the Archi admin and talking with you during that time, I have no doubt you were one of the best NSC Directors ever. However, when a new person steps in, sometimes old ways don't work. It's unfortunate but when a new person takes over, old ways get written over.
Ah, this turned into the retired directors cry-a-thon
Welcome Back Buzzy, is nice to have you back
It would be nice to have a new revision of the Military Field Manual updated to v1, I think is an essential reading for all troops.
There's a tear, in my beer...
Sir, no disrespect, but maybe you should shut down this little pity-party and get to work fixing the things you're spending all this time bitching about, Sir.
Aye, I agree. I would be upset too if all I worked for was gone, but that's not the case. Do a little research for yourself and start poking around. You'll find that Moishe has done an excellent job building, organizing, and maintaining the military. As for your RL situation, I can empathize, and I'm sorry.
Welcome back mate!!
Also,

not going to lie, the military pay system is kinda hard to understand. all i get different links and articles to read. sign up here sign up there. and still no money. but honestly i dont care about the money, it is just such a mess!!!
Well... The system is flawed then isn't it?
You do realize that you are commiting the same mistakes the U.S did back in February towards March?
Learn from History...
Sorry to hear about all the bad luck, it's been rough for many of use lately. Welcome back though. I hope things are getting better.
