Return of a Rather Ancient Citizen

Day 1,840, 04:01 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Elisa Vorimberg

I joined erepublik on Feb 10, 2009. I have not played the game at all in at least 2 years. However, I am back now.

I feel a bit like a ghost. I'm back on earth after my time has past. I'm able to see the long term impacts my actions had after years of absence. Now I'm wandering around this strange new world, new rules, new mechanics, with only an occasional relic from the past appearing here and there.

I was not unimportant in my time. I was the minister of foreign affairs in Germany during the third Sweden-Germany war. It seems the one lasting legacy is that the history books correctly reflect Sweden's uncalled for aggression and it's contribution to breaking up the now ancient alliance "Atlantis". I was also a member of German congress for 5 terms, a member of Canadian congress for one term, a Canadian vice-minister of foreign affairs, and twice a presidential candidate in Germany. Although it retrospect perhaps not the best candidate, and the voters knew that.

I had over 280 friends when I left. Almost every single one is now dead. I cleaned out all but one of the dead friends, and many that I could not remember, leaving 15. Strangely I have 58 subscribers... I look forward to hearing from them if they are reading this!

In any case I am starting to rebuild myself. I'm starting to learn the new rules of the game and make a few friends. I've moved to the UK and got citizenship. I picked the UK for a variety of reasons. I'm more than a little disappointed that Germany is under occupation, after all the countless hours we spent trying and succeeding when I left, to keep her in one piece. The language issue was also a factor, as UK is English speaking. Finally, and perhaps this might be silly to you, when I left the UK was a great ally. Your citizens are great and lovable. I look forward to helping contribute to and become a valuable member of the UK.

Next on my to-do list is pick a political party to join... I hope to take a stab at getting into congress in the next election.

If you've read this far, I am grateful! Please leave a comment or message me or something, I'd love to hear from you.

If anyone has some in depth literature about the new erepublik rules, such as combat tactics and company management, please send it my way. Also any good irc channels would be appreciated.

Thanks and hope to talk to you again soon!
