Resignation
Joshua Hoss
I hereby resign as General of the eIsraeli Defense Forces Commanding Officer on this day 994 of the New World.
This is not a decision I make lightly and one that saddens me deeply. However I have become aware that there is no longer a need for the eIDF in a V2 eIsrael. People are better off working with their friends in supporting eIsrael’s military needs rather than join a military organization. eIsrael will never have the player numbers to become an offensive military; rather we have and should continue to focus on the defense of our great nation.
I will make no attempt to hinder any ongoing support of the eIDF after I am gone, however I will go on record and say (once again) that I feel the eIDF is no longer needed. In my opinion the Minister of Defense can issues out general orders to the general public and create a weapons distribution system without having to run a military. If the current administration disagrees with me so be it, but I urge them to listen to someone who tried very hard to make the eIDF work. It just does not belong in V2. Players are better off fighting with their friends and fellow eCitizens at a time that is convenient for them then to have to try and work around a military organization.
:: Future Plans ::
To be honest I have no idea what the future holds for me. I may take some time off and just two click (I think it now becomes 4 click at least in V2?) for awhile. I will continue to be a part of eIsrael and hop someday to return to a higher level of activity (in the case that I decide not to be active). I do not know if I will attempt to move into politics or if I will begin to open businesses in eIsrael. I do appreciate the support I have gotten in this past month from many players and look forward towards working with them on new issues in the future.
Long live eIsrael.
Joshua Hoss
General (Retired)
Former Commanding Officer, eIsraeli Defense Forces

I have to say I tend to agree with you, Josh. The government can issue orders directly to citizens and send them weapons and tickets just as they now plan to send food and other supplies. There truly isn't any reason for an organized military in a country this small, particularly since it is so difficult to find people willing to put in the effort to follow orders and coordinate their efforts. In our last official deployment only 1 soldier out of 21 in my division actually followed orders to move and fight. The deployment before that 5 people moved. Only 30-40% of the soldiers bother to respond to roll calls, and only 1-2 are active on the forums. I don't know about other divisions, but this abysmally low level of inactivity shows me that the org just isn't important to people. And if it's not important, it should not exist. It's a lot of time and effort for pretty much no return.
Our current general and our former general both saying our country can't hold up an armed forces.
R.I.P. eIsrael
🙁 Well there goes the eIDF...
should we disband it
like theres barely anyone in division 1
pity
pity
Unbelievable.
So sad...
both mealyn and hoss. have you even asked yourself that perhaps this is the result of defected leadership?
the amount of activity on regular basis we had before v2 on small groups and on beta was extraordinary.
what did change ?
Hmm....let's see...we had a lot of activity...and a plan we were following that everyone was excited about...then the General was fired, the org went inactive for a month or so while people talked a lot but didn't do a thing...then Hoss comes back to try to reform it, but apparentrly no one cares anymore. So yeah, what happened there, PK?
PK you are making yourself look bad. I am not slinging anyone's name in the mud here or calling out anyone. Please refrain from doing so as well or else I may have to play into your little game.
I resigned. I'm not sure what Mae's plan is right now, but until she resigns she is the acting Commanding Officer. So play nice, you might need her.
As I told you in our private conversation: Gloat over whoever you want, I do not care. In my opinion eIsrael does not need a military right now.
the org was the same as ever. as he was 3 months ago. 1.5 months ago. and 5 months ago.
the slightest change or reform was given to the org. was at my second term. and yes. there were alot of mistakes on how it went down. lol i have no intention of covering it down.
but come on. you going to tell me half dead half asleep army is good? we NEVER. had a decent working force. NEVER. perhaps the only time i remember an active eidf. was when panther was in charge... and i'm not sure because i was newbe back then.
PK please troll somewhere else. This is my retirement article and I would appreciate it if things were kept positive and no mudslinging was done. I have no desire to fight with you . Please go gloat somewhere else.
PK, you have no idea what you are talking about. Remember the old 1st Platoon, the one you were a Sergeant in? You were the only slacker we had. Every other squad had no issue following orders. Out of 60 guys, we'd get 45 or so deploying routinely. The ones who didn't were, almost exclusively, in your squad. Because you were a slacker who couldn't be bothered to do your job. Remember being demoted? Ever wonder why we did that? 😛 The rest of the eIDF was very active. We did not all share your lack of ability.
Sorry, Josh, I'll stop now. I promise.
Dammit.
" Baby come back! You can blame it all on me!"
Gonna leave me alone Hoss?
demoted ? 😮 lol after being elected vp ? are you high mealyn ?
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH you mean that after i asked to be removed from msg position YOU DID DEMOTE ME, AFTER 3 WEEKS 😃
SUPERB MAE, SUPERB.

One of the saddest things I could read!
We're done for without a military! We may not need it for operations, but we need it for an organized place to coordinate our people of our plans and the official decisions (otherwise they'll just scatter or slack off when needed to fight for our allies, or worse, ourselves!), for new players- to introduce them to V2's combat system, for the order- letting people know who they can trust and who they should turn to in need (rank order), and last but not least, for PRIDE!! And no need to explain pride, you know what I'm talking about!
Speaking of which, Maelyn turned over the months into our inspiration to fight and dedicate ourselves- please, if she agrees, let her take General position again, I'm sure that if things are done right we can get enough people to work dedicatedly for eIDF (so she won't have to work alone again).
I respect Hoss for all he did and his perspective on our military, but please reconsider the consequences.
Hoss daddy im with you..
Sad to read that..
Good riddance? It is about time? Unorganized army hardly in the last war we/they gave instructions. People they made errors and many, in the most important moments you put not. Ps impersonal.
Obligated to tell something more, the translator of shit then apparently that not you will understand anything ( included menu xd ).
Dude I got no idea what you are trying to say.
This I am not this babylon : D
Can't we try to reform it again from the base? 🙁
It's not about having defense capabilities, and it doesn't have to have more than 20 members, but just having something called IDF in the game has a very strong meaning to us!
SayeretMatkal: The problem is everyone wants to be part of the eIDF, but nobody wants to actually do the work involved. They want to be able to say "I am in the eIDF" without actually having to do anything. At that point I would rather not have an eIDF than soil its name for use as a "status" symbol rather than an actual fighting force. Have some pride.
A simple Millitary Department would be okay, that gives general orders to the citizens, and dispenses weapons, tickets and such. No organized movements other than that will work with V2
I see what you mean. I do believe however that we can find the right people.
But I won't nag here anymore. Thanks for all your help and dedication.
this day and age. we need to have some sort of national guard. where everyone and their mother can particiapte. other then that. have a small platoon of forces about 20 people who can travel and help our allies.
this way you secure both fronts. and as far as getting everyone activity up. well thats the challange people have to face.
hey Israel... Hoss is 100% correct Israeli when you look at the people who you are fighting against or will be fighting against in the future which for the most part is Turkey on a defensive stance. You have no real potential to really attack anyone. Really it would be much better if you had a MoD send out orders and open up a IRC room for mass attacks for anyone who is Israeli citizen. Sure there still can be an IDF in the future but you got to invite your friends to come here, anyone a stronger Israel is recquired for an entire organization focused on fighting battles which is nearly impossible with the enemies and resources you have
holy shit, i take a vacation and look what i come back too...lol...time for another vacation i think.
Or more alcohol MrsJHoliday!
