Referendum on eIrelands Future !!!!
Padraig_Pearse
Good citizens of Ireland,
I am proposing that a national referendum be held on the forums on Ireland on joining an alliance, the referendum should include which alliance to join or to stay neutral, i believe the referendum should be held on the forums. To prevent cheating i believe that people should have to register with the administrator of the eIrish forums and then he grants there profile on the forums access to the topic where they can cast there vote.
This is a great way to promote democracy in eIreland and get everyday citizens of eIreland to get involved in the goings on in eIreland and to have there say on the route Ireland takes.
So lets get the ball rolling
Eden
Peace
Sol
Federation of neutral nations
Bromance
Neutrality
So which way shall Ireland go
Vote eden

Too bad there isn't a vote down feature
Helpful comment there JJ, Fairplay
BiH isn't neutral :/
Also, Sol isn't a very important choice since you can be part of another alliance and still be in it. I've never heard of the Federation of Neutral Nations (???)
And I thought you'd stay quiet for a while Padraig...!
This actually is a decent article by you though! You always surprise me.
And neither is Moldavia 😛
Ok, You want helpful?
Find another country. Pakistan is back on the map.
I didn't realize being helpful was high on your list of wants PP, I'd have never guessed by your destructive behavioral tendencies.
MY BAD.
JEWITTMAXXX
You took Niall's pictures, added a white flag, and made it seem like you had something to contribute. You want to begin contributing to Irish life, you can recompensate people for your crimes. Only then will you have a say.
i am proposing a referendum
and there not nialls pics, there on google images
Interesting idea.
:/
we are smack in the middle of a strong member of EDEN; eUSA, and a weak member of PEACE; eUK.
eUSA has been very active militarily of late, not to mention successful at it! They also have a history of treating their allies rather well. eAus may be moaning about having WA liberated without their support, but I suspect that moaning may be POLITICAL moaning.
....having a region liberated and handed back to you, without your needing to get involved cannot be all that disagreeable....
The eUK is not much of a military powerhouse, it's not a backbone nation of PEACE. It's history of honoring it's friendships is.... tarnished.
Questions;
If eUSA acted against eUK (and that wouldn't be an unjustified action) would we stand with eUK against eUSA who have never wronged us?
If yes, can we really consider ourselves neutral, or are we actually just a PEACE proxy?
If eUSA attacked us (I don't think they would unless we got ourselves involved in opposition of them) do you believe the eUK would stand with us?
If yes, do you REALLY believe that? Considering the history?
If eUK helped to defend us, would they have the backing of PEACE?
Now;
If eUK OR ALL of PEACE attacked us, do you think we could call upon eUSA to help us keep our sovereignty?
If eUSA defended us, would they have the backing of EDEN/broz?
If we had an agreement with eUSA, could we count on them to honor it?
This is my very 1st post, I'm very new, but pretty well read. I hope I have not offended anyone

I've been very disappointed in some of the comments I've seen here. I've heard about bad things Padraig_Pearse has done but that is no reason to shoot down a good idea.
Have to say i think its a good idea aswell. Maybe an obvious one as i hope any movement away from neutrality would be put up for a vote from the people.
My only concern would be that sweet f all of the general population would vote on the most important decison in our history, just the usual active ones but sure nothing we can do about that.
Maybe an article asking people to vote by pm to somebody would encourage the ones who dont have time to go onto the forums and makes it more simplistic.........
Niall recently released an article that is more in depth than this, so this article is just repeating what Niall said.
@Sweetie Lots of good questions. This has been something that has been debated a lot in the Dail. We have made steps towards a solid decision, but is the time for that decision now? I don't think so.
We have applied for observer status with Sol, Darragh has done an excellent job utilizing Ambassadors to raise our status in the world, Kit is doing a great job continuing to build the IDF, we are seriously looking at building another Q5 hospital and we are putting the final touches on 24/7 war games. So I think we are taking the right steps towards a decision like this.
However, I would like to see what fruit comes from these actions before pushing onto the next step. I know that is frustrating for some of you, but once we take a path we can't backtrack. We will be committed to it. It's a fine line to walk, but one that must be walked at this point in time.
So if I were voting at this point, I would vote to maintain our neutrality for the time being, but open to joining an alliance in the future.
Did YOU really say "To prevent cheating" etc PP?
LMFAO
With you involved cheating is standard operating procedure.
The fact that you ripped Niall off aside, shouldn't your "Referendum" wait until your the referendum discussing your own personal crimes is finished?

@ JJ
He cant go to Pakistan. They would cut both his hands off in the immigrations office... hmmmm... actually, maybe I'll send him a MT. 😉
Federation of neutral nations
Isn't joining a federation of nations with MPP's (whether they claim to be neutral or not) in itself a declaration of non-neutrality?
If that's not the case either PEACE or EDEN could claim to be a neutral federation that is only responding to foreign hostilities.
A new federation is in effect; a third alliance. The weakest of the three....
In order to remain truly neutral we must retain no MUTUALPP's, we could however remain neutral while having PP's, that is we could pay gold to a protection racket.
I agree with Edana in that this might not be the time to act.
This is the time to negotiate the best possible terms for our country from either ofthe existing alliances,
This could be very valuable time, if spent wisely.
MoFA, I think this is YOUR time 🙂
@jj this article is asking for a referendum, let the people decide!!!
If there is going to be a vote then there should be two rounds
First one to see if we want an alliance
1) Do you want an alliance?
a) Yes
b) No
Second one to see wich alliance (if on the first one more people vote yes)
2) Wich alliance?
a) Eden
b) Peace
c) Sol
d) Federation of neutral countries
I think Federation of neutral nations & neutrality are the best choices.
Not a bad idea to promote democracy even better for eIreland
Glenn Wauters is actually making this simple. i.e. don't put the cart before the horse. If we were Neutral Our flag would be the same, as now. Neutrality in the face of obstructionism.
my country (greece) is in EDEN, so i i would like Ireland was also!
it would be very mad if the country that hospitals me is an opponent of my mother country!
Who is Greece
im greek but i live in ireland! it would be nice if ireland was in eden too. because eden fight for peace (not the allience)!! Peace (the allience) is an imperialistic organization that tries to conquer the world!
FNN
Good article PP.
@JJ the concept of this article is different to that of Niall H's
Glenn Wauters idea is the best.
Unless you are attacked you should have a referendum on joining an alliance. In the interests of democracy.
Just as PEACE is not peaceful even though it is in the name the NNF's members would cease to be neutral as soon as they joined that alliance. There would be an alignment to a group of nation over another group.
Padraig Fail. Again.
John Jay you are clouded by your hate for Padraig_Pearse which will not help you out with anything. This article is totally different to Niall H's.
Not alot new here but the article spurs discussion, which is good. Our MoFA and Dail ultimately make these decisions but they need to hear the public's opinion. A public forum 2-part vote is a great idea.
In public polls it's the size that counts. We need as many citizens as possible to voice their opinions.
This is holding onto my articles success, where the votes or is it just a article?
@PP i do own the Federation of Neutral Countrys picture as i made it myself :/
I like Glen Wauters idea too.
Although I doubt it will ever happen because there will be a debate for the next hundred years in the Dáil.
I think neutral or peace
