Reconsiderations and an apology..

Day 854, 14:52 Published in Canada Canada by zblewski

To eCanadians,

Recently, I made a statement regarding the fate of Samuel de Champlain, and stated that the Government of eCanada and himself, alongside his legal adviser, had negotiated a deal in pre-trial negotiations. I released a statement to this effect, as well as a secondary statement on the status of de Champlain. Criticism was expected, and a mixed reply did arrive, however, an error in judgment was indeed made, as stated by several people, and I am willing to accept the fact that I made an error.

In the secondary statement, I had said that Samuel de Champlain was in no way responsible for treasonous act. I did this because of the long and arduous process involved on the part of de Champlain, who has for months been trying to return to a life of normalcy, playing by the rules which govern us all. However, it was inappropriate for me to say that. de Champlain has stated he "doesn't believe he betrayed Canada, but that he worked on the interests of his fellow French-speaker colleagues, as many other people did in France." The fact remains, that no matter what ideas were behind the action, he willingly worked against Canada on more than one occasion, no matter what citizenship he had, or what logic was behind it. He did indeed act against the eCanadian state, and this acceptance of terms reflects that.

I will remind you that this does not change the terms of the deal. He will still have to comply to the terms given by the Attorney General. However, the reasoning behind the statement has changed to reflect the actions of de Champlain. I had consulted with the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister, Chucky Norris, and he agreed that my wording and my statement had been made in error. I am a man of my word, I accept the critisism, and retract the statement regarding the actions of de Champlain. However, de Champlain is still in the crossfire. He has accepted the terms, and, as such, plans on becoming a productive eCanadian citizen who will work and live by the law of eCanada. His present and future actions will carve his path, and the Government wishes him luck. We want the rest of the nation to guide him, and once he has returned to normalcy, forgive him of his past and allow him to make a better future for all of us.
