Re-elect Ryoushi for Congress!

Day 764, 23:39 Published in Japan Japan by Ryoushi

As the sun sets on another eRepublik month, those of us in Japan are taking a deep breath. These are busy times. In the next couple days, it would be wise for each citizen to sit back and take time to relax and reflect. Celebrate the holidays with your family and forget about the game and all the drama.

But don't linger too long, because you need to connect to the game, move to Chubu, and vote Ryoushi back into the Imperial Diet before midnight strikes!

As a brief reminder, here are the reasons why I humbly request your vote:

Activity - In my first term I was among the most active Congress people. I participated in all the important debates on the national forums, and am in the #eJapan IRC channel almost every day. I don't argue much on the national forums, but I try to clearly state my opinion and provide solid analysis for why. I voted on every important issue. And, because I am an XP whore, I voted on all the unimportant proposals as well.

Foreign Affairs - In my campaign speech last month I pledged to do work to improve the Foreign Affairs department. While I cannot take credit for the changes that have taken place, I did take the role of Ambassador to Serbia, and I was part of the dialogue that changed the role of Ambassador into less of a diplomat role, and more of a spokesperson one. This may seem like a step back for ambassadors, but actually, it is a more realistic view of what ambassadors can accomplish.

Operation Wiki - I have started to emerge as one of the historians of Japan, by working on the Japan section of the eRepublik wiki. Most notably, I was sole author of the wiki page for the Bank of Japan theft.

It took a lot of work to dig through old eRepublik newspaper articles (since the archive is so rudimentary) and the national forums (much easier searching there) to get the whole story accurately, but putting the document together was fun, and the feedback motivated me to continue. I am now at work on a wiki page for our most recent "situation", the Second Kyushu Controversy.

I am not the loudest or most adept member of the Diet, but I have a deep respect for this country, its people, and its stories. My goal is to find my niche as a Congress member and help Japan as it transforms into a more productive, more powerful nation in the eRepublik world. I promise my constituents that I will thoughtfully consider all the issues put before me, and actively listen to the concerns of all citizens. That is all I have to give, and I hope that in return, you will give me your vote.

Signed,
Ryoushi
