Quebec Seperatism / Pakistan
David Eastcorner
Having read about Pakistan's plan to aid Quebec in any way possible, I had a thought. WHAT IF ALL THE CITIZENS OF QUEBEC VOTE ON WHETHER OR NOT TO SEPARATE? In real history the citizens of Quebec had a vote which (barely) kept them from leaving Canada. I propose that we do the same here.
Also, if the Quebeckers really want to leave Canada they should establish their own political party in order to do so.
And as far as I'm concerned the Pakistani government just enjoys sowing discord among other nations of the world. I've read what they say about the Swedes. They can do it if they want to, but I will oppose it.
Comments are welcome.

Viva la France?
THey will not seperate. There was an article before (Can\'t remember) but it was written by the president of eCanada. It\'s in eCanada\'s treaty or whatever it\'s called, that no province shall seperate from eCanada. If someone wishes to live by another countries rules and join them, then they should buy a ticket and move there themselves. eQuebec is apart of Canada and shall remain so.
Kind regards
Emilio
Here\'s the article in case you missed it: http://www.erepublik.com/article-520971.html
Yes, but Pakistan regards them as an \"oppressed\" minority, and consider Quebec independent. The last thing we need is Quebec asking for help.
No one is oppressed anyway, Quebeckers have equal rights compared to all other Canadians.
the fact that most article are not written in the two languages and that official releases are either in english or translated with babelfish makes it an oppressed minority.
Oppressed is an overstatement. Not everyone speaks two languages. I myself speak English, Dutch, and simple French. Unfortunately I completely butcher it if I try to make it meaningful.
Maybe there should be a law about bilingual newspapers?
Altnabla, by your logic much of eRepublik is an oppresed minority due to the fact that the majority of articles which reach the International page are dominated by either Turkish or Indonesian articles. The fact that I have reached out to francophones to translate the constitution, and have put in an effort to translate my own official statements into French is proof enough that the Government supports a policy of multiculturalism and bilingualism. Why, I even translated the Reclamation into French in order to cater to the vast influx of francophones in eCanada.
At the time of the creation of the Constiution, there was little need for a bilingual provision into the charter, as the vast majority of active eCanadians were either fluently bilingual, or Anglophone. Now with this influx of francophone Canadians, a new law, or even constitutional amendment may be neccessary in order to ensure that all eCanadians be they French or English, can recieve at least a moderate level of service from their goverment in either official language, or a reasonable translation therein.
England Prevails.
They are not oppressed. Oppression would mean trying to stop them posting in French, which is not happening. They are free to post whatever they want in what ever language they like. Really, the only freedoms here are communication and association, both of which they have.
In RL Canada, it\'s law that the government must do business in both official languages. In eCanada, there is no official language per se, and no law stating that the government must do it\'s business in any language(Anyone want to see the government do everything in Esperanto, how about Binary or Hex?). Currently it does it\'s business in English because the majority of it\'s members speak primarily English, and I\'m sure if the majority of it\'s members spoke French we\'d see all the government announcements in that language.
The francophones of Canada are used to being dealt with in their language of choice, and are trying to get the same privilege in eCanada. And make no mistake, this is a privilege, not a right here in eCanada. They are not a unique society here in eCanada, so they should not have any special privileges over any other citizens of eCanada.
I don\'t care about the rhetorics much. Really.
Adam, you claim to have translated your articles in french. As far as I know, you just google translated it, that\'s not really \"caring about\".
Soulscode, you claim oppression would be trying to stop them posting. How could you even do that, you\'re no admin as far as I know. I\'ve been told that French canadians are not well represented and that their mayoral decisions are being claimed as anticonstitutional. I call that oppression, if they choose to go in France, to secession or if you find a deal with them, Pakistan will respect the decision and leave everyone alone. As long as none of these will be done, I will call it oppression, Pakistan will call it oppression.
If Quebec needs to be liberated, we will liberate it, just like we did with Tibet.
