This is the new update by the admins. A new military module. Players use various skills on the ground where you control where you move and who you attack. This means the military side of the game has changed to be more like MMORPG games. Those people who are very experienced in controling teams in this sort of fashion in strategy based games will now become valuable military leaders. Some of us here at eRep are also very dedicated to other games. Personally I'm an FPS ganer and my strategic skills only apply to 4v4 games.
New systems will have to be implemented in which the current leaders may have to take the political side of the military while new players step up to the plate to handle the on the ground fighting. Different skills are better against different different skills. Like rock paper scissors. This means Countries can have a whole new realm of value as leaders can instruct the country to train in just infantry for example. This would mean that if we only trained in infantry then we would suddenly become valueable worldwide for taking out artillary in battles. Diffferent things can happen like this. I don't know about you guys but I'm looking forward to this.

Weapons will be the Cards played, and Quality of Weapon will not determine Victory so to say, in the Player vs. Player Battles. Terrain will be important also.
Cool read up folks.
I'd like to think I am an excellent RPG player.
There's still plenty of questions left to be answerred by the next few admin articles. Like how are the 5 soldiers you can attack selected if there are more than 5 soldiers on a tile? How much gold will the boosters cost. Will all the maps for terrain be the same? etc etc.... looks really interesting tho.
Being a guy who's nerdy for strategy games like Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Starcraft, etc., I'm really looking forward to this. It makes commanders and leaders all the more necessary. Less of a numbers game, and a bit more strategy to it.
Small, elite groups will be able to better compete with the nations that throw gold and allies at battles.
Exactly my thinking Bradums. There are some people who are unbeleiveable at those games. Those skills will translate accross to this game.
Can't wait - the total war series should serve me well !
