Public Launch of the National Library

Day 1,028, 02:59 Published in Ireland Ireland by Dubhthaigh

Good morning Citizens, and welcome to the party! Please feel free to help yourself to the assorted foods, beverages and witticisms offered by the Library staff on this most auspicious of days.

Now that you are suitably refreshed, and enticed by the prospect of this project that could benefit us all greatly, please let me take you on a quick tour:

How to get to the Library?

The National Library can be found in the 'Towne Centre' section of the National Forum. You'll know it's the right place because yes, as you might imagine, it's called 'The National Library.' If that were not clear enough, Kolshire has kindly plastered the word 'Librarian' over the sub forums inside too.

What's inside?

The Library is currently divided into five sub-forums, four of which are the archives, and the fifth being a 'Suggestion Box.' All the material we approve is stored in these archives, which, for your reading pleasure and ease, are arranged on a genre system; 'History,' 'Current Affairs,' 'Fiction' and 'Guides.'

The 'Suggestions Box' is a very important part of the project. This is where you as citizens can recommend articles and texts for archiving in the library - saving the Librarian the inenviable task of trawling through every article published in every country throughout Erepublik history.

if you want something added, just follow the instructions provided in the Box.

Just in case you skim read the above paragraph.

What can be added?

There are few types of articles that cannot be added - most should fit into the genres provided. Articles can be from any nation, from any experience of player, and from any viewpoint. Works that rely very heavily on pictures and links to get across their meaning are discouraged, however, as these do not work well on the forums.

Be it poetry, historical fiction, guides or political comment, anything. Please send it to the Library Suggestion Box.

The Benefits.

As a country we can gain alot from having somewhere to store our history, and the works of our citizens and, indeed, of citizens from across the eWorld. Information is power, especially where new players are involved, and the Library should become the centre for every newb's learning about Ireland and the game in general.

Times change quickly on this game, and whilst old players may remember, new ones will not have access to the lessons, good times or bad times experienced in the past. In some ways, this is a tool for us to enrich our eCulture.

Please do your community duties today, and shout the link to the National Library. If you want to do more, please suggest articles (can be of any origin and any genre/quality) for addition to the archives.

Thankyou kindly, temporary Chief Librarian Dubhthaigh.
