PrincessVictoria on Her First Congress Win

Day 1,256, 17:15 Published in USA USA by PrincessVictoria

My fellow eAmericans,

This article has been long overdue, both in the time since I began running for Congress and since the latest Congressional elections. Forgive me for my tardiness but I have had an incredibly busy week as I am wrapping up a second semester in college by preparing for exams and involvement in the upcoming year’s student government. It is indeed a busy time of the year so I ask for your patience with me.

This starving college student eats ramen…like a boss.

I am pleased to announce that after my fifth Congressional campaign, I have secured a win in the state of Wisconsin. Before I proceed, I must give my thanks to brt2me and Fidelorean for being some of the most respectful and enthusiastic campaigners I have ever faced. I wish you both the best of luck and hope to see you run again next month.

These elections were quite uncertain for me at the outset on Monday morning. I had no time to follow the elections due to school. I resolved that I would wait until I returned home to get more involved with the elections and notified those that I worked with as Director of Elections of the Libertarian Party that this would be the case. I knew from the outset that this would be quite the learning experience and made plans for where I would carry on from here in the event that I lost another campaign. With that, I stepped away from eRepublik to concentrate on my real life as was necessary.

When I was available after I returned home, I logged into eRepublik before I made my way to IRC to get updates on the day’s events and to get involved in the typical tasks that take place on the day of an election. The outlook for my campaign was not very bright at the start of my day on eRep so I began to prepare myself and put myself into my work offering assistance to those that were also campaigning for Congress. I spent the remainder of my evening doing this before I logged off to go to bed. As I logged off, the Libs were doing all they could to make sure this election cycle ended in the best way possible for the party and I noted that I was behind brt2me & Fidelorean and would need more votes to secure a win in Wisconsin.

I discovered when I logged on the next morning that during the night, I had gained enough votes to take the lead over my opponents. The results were not final so I headed off to school and waited until during my break to check the results. I knew that the tallying of the votes had a tendency to cause great upsets in a Congressional elections but I had come out of the elections with a win. After campaigning for Congress since December, this was a great moment in my eRepublik career.

Praise be to Dio for a victory in Packer Country...amen!

Thank you to all that voted for me and to those who were my opponents! I look forward to serving you as Congresswoman of Wisconsin!

Till next time, my dear readers…
