Presidential Elections

Day 1,258, 11:11 Published in Ireland Ireland by Sean MacDiarmata

Citizens of Ireland,

With the presidential elections coming up soon we need the country to stay focused. We have seen great progress made this month and I will ask you to allow me to continue the very good job I have being doing building on the ground work that we as a country have begun.

This month I along with my military advisers and MoD's have given Ireland its first free elections for at least four months. We have seen BCH causing issue's in our elections; I have been able to end the threat for the moment but will still need to work in the coming month to ensure we are able to continue to keep the BCH members out of office. We have seen the UK declare us their Natural Enemy, we were able to deny them that opportunity but make no mistake, that threat is still very real and I have proven my cabinet is prepared to handle that threat.

I have been able to negotiate four MPPs at essentially half price, saving our country Gold as well as ensuring Ireland's sovereignty, additionally these MMPs have allowed all Irish citizens the ability to fight from home, those being Bulgaria, Bosnia, Italy and Poland. I have brought unity to Ireland by uniting the IA and ICA into one focused deployable force which has turned many battles. I have been pushing the IA to try get it to a peak military unit so when necessary it can be ready to defend Ireland with the ICA and be a huge threat to any nation considering attacking us.

As your president, I had hard decisions to make, as tough as there were, I was not afraid to make them to defend our country. I planned and put into action the taking over by Canada of three of Irelands regions, Northwest of Ireland, Dublin and Southeast of Ireland. This then meant all British PTO'ers where blocked from the Dail Elections. Some of the above mentioned decisions were not well received by many in our country but were proved quite necessary and extremely successful. I fear others in my role would not have been willing to, nor have the contacts needed to see the tasks to fruition.

I did have a contingency plan, as any great leader should, involving bringing in over 30 ATO'ers from allied countries to assist in the elections if needed; again showing the benefit of my experience, dedication and international diplomacy.

I was able to regain control, from the eRep admins, of a number of state orgs that our last president did not have access to, as well as implement a New Players guide, a work in progress that will contain all necessary information and links to assist our younger players with adapting quickly to our eRep way of life.

Ireland has again become closer with our EDEN allies, primarily because we have chosen our MPP's well, allowing us to attack from home as well as the fact I am not afraid to deploy the IA any where we are needed to defend our brothers in arms.

When I started this month I brought in some new young ministers like S1lv3r k1d who has done very well even though his Joint Minister disappeared after accepting a role this month. That minister was released from his position and assistance was given to S1lv3r to lessen the additional burden placed upon him. I believe new players and those who don't have command experience should always be given the chance to be ministers so they can gain key experience.

Lastly, I would like to thank each and every Irish citizen for allowing me opportunity to serve you and represent this great nation of ours and to also thank you for your willingness to stand behind me when I had some very difficult decisions to make, and trust in my decisions. I was so proud to see our country uniting to prevent the attack on our soil and the bipartisanship of our political parties to prevent another election poisoned by BCH members. It is because of those things that I come before you today to ask the great people of Ireland to vote for me again this month; I feel I have proven that I am more than capable of leading our great nation. Also, having held high level positions for most of my time in game, has allowed me to gain not only valuable experience but also has allowed me to build solid relationships with influential players abroad who stand ready to defend Ireland when ever needed.

On a personal side note, Over the past three days I have been the first Irish soldier to be inducted into the prestigious EDEN EMC and its an honor to be representing Ireland within our alliance and as always I will do anything possible to show what Ireland is capable of.

On the 5th, vote for the man with experience, the man who gets things done...the man who works for Ireland, brings unity and security to our nation.
